Stayed recently in The Loch Leven Hotel and overall enjoyed our 2 night short break. We were greeted warmly by the manager, Paul, who was able to answer the coupe of questions we had regarding staying with our dog. …

We used the hotel as a base for climbing Ben Nevis as it is only a 25 minute drive from the starting car park and it was more reasonably priced than other hotels in the area. …

We were contacted while en route & told that there would be no food that evening. An alternative venue was recommended which was just about acceptable but of course involved driving. …

Don't be fooled by the room pictures on the website. We were robbed £190 to stay for 1 night in room 8. Tired and grubby to say the least. No idea when it was last cleaned let alone decorated. The whole place is in dire need of refurbishment. Lovely views if you look up, just don't look at the courtyard garden. Staff rude and uninterested if you can track someone down. Poor breakfast offering as well. We were also charged twice "by accident". Better and cheaper places near by,

DO NOT STAY HERE. As soon as we pulled into the rough and littered parking lot we knew we were “in trouble”. The hotel looked very run down from the outside. The inside was worse. …

The worst hotel we stayed at in Scotland. We asked for a view king room and were given a very warn small bed with a nice view of the driveway. The 4 poster bed was not a genuine 4 poster bed and the light in the bathroom was turned on by a piece of string. The food & drinks were way over priced and owners/managers really didn’t seem to care. So many better places to stay in the areaI did not state the food was bad, the food was good. I said it was overpriced. You need to be honest about the king bed being a Uk king not an American style. I did bot find the string to turn on the bathroom lights acceptable either for almost 400 pounds.

Wish I could give this place a glowing review the staff and the location were great! However, our bed was broken, by broken we slept on it as it was a pitched roof. The shower is an on demand system which severely diminishes water pressure and the ability to find a comfortable temperature, took 10 minutes to gain a warm temperature. After getting in late eating and attempting a relaxing shower, we found the bed was in it's state. Very little sleep was obtained due to the undesirable shape of the bed and knowing it would be too late to find another room, or facility.

A very nice, cozy and familiar hotel in a beautiful location close to Glencoe. The food is excellent and the cozy and well-stocked bar alone would be worth a visit. The room facilities were good. The hotel is family friendly. We didn't visit the distillery, but we did try a few of the gins and rums. We spent two wonderful days here.

Overall our stay here was wonderful so it’s hard to leave a mixed review. The location and overall experience was great and the staff were terrific. The hotel bar/restaurant was very good and being able to taste from their distillery was a fun touch. The reason I’m not given more stars is because of the rooms. They really aren’t anything special and could be more clean. My biggest issue was that the entire floor smelled very strongly of a deep frier due to the kitchen being below and all of my belongings had a lingering smell when we left, which isn’t ideal when you are traveling a week or more and don’t have easy access to laundry.

A characterful, family run hotel in a picturesque environment. Our room was comfortable with wonderful views over the loch. The meals were well cooked and well presented. The staff were friendly and attentive.
