To be honest, when I was looking for a place I was searching for something with the location being the priority. Based on the price I decided to take a room at Acorn Lodge, as it was inexpensive and by taxi or shuttle it’s only 6 minutes away from the airport.The rooms are pretty basic standards, could be cleaner as there was some sticky stuff on the bathroom floor and in the shower was a bit dirty, but overall it was okay just for one night. It’s nice that they also offer free breakfast and convenient times but the breakfast quality is really not that great. Most of the food they offer is packaged and processed food that you can warm up.But all in all if you’re looking for a cheap stay with a convenient location to the airport, I’d say this is a pretty reasonable option.

Our experience of Acorn HotelIs no criticism what so ever.Very accommodating flexiblewelcoming staff.They provided the service as advertised.Picked us up at the airport 3.40am very pleasant helpful driver.Helped to our room with cases.Overall verdict definitely staying here again in the future.

We stayed 1 night as our flight came in late. Perfect location. Polite and friendly staff. Shuttle service is great value. Good choice at breakfast. Bathroom a little tired but room very adequate for our needs. Would definitely stay again for this purpose. Thank you.

One star hotel at most. Basic, tiny rooms and old mattresses with springs protruding. Not comfortable. Hotel has no a/c and mold problems in bathrooms. Equipment is broken and cleanliness could and should be better. Breakfast is basic, prepackaged on most part. Staff member watched my every move but didn’t understand any allergy questions about foods so I gave up asking. My kids decided they would rather not eat there. Coffee maker kept breaking after every coffee it made. Front staff was friendly but also with very limited English skills. Overall hotel served its purpose of quick stop close to Gatwick with shuttle service (€10 for up to 3ppl). I did not try the Indian restaurant as we have nut allergies and communication was difficult.

Great 2 day stay for a very fair price. Room was up to standards and clean. Free, unlimited Wifi was provided. There was plenty of breakfast and beverage options in the morning and the bangladeshi cuisine within the hotel was some of the best south asian food i’ve tried. Had a good night sleep with no disturbance and was not stressful to leave in the morning, nor did i have to rush as knowing the airport was only a 5 minute drive from this hotel. the hotel staff were very accommodating and polite. This hotel was definitely worth the stay, especially with the food. I’ll deffo be returning!!
