We stayed at Bridge Cottage while walking the South Downs Way. It is 2 miles north of the path but the No 60 bus will take you from the path to the Greyhound pub which is next to Bridge Cottage (nice pub with great food). We loved our room, the excellent breakfast and sitting in the peaceful garden where we saw deer and heard owls. Miranda made us a packed lunch as food options on the Way are limited.

Stayed here for one night. The place is run by a lovely lady who did everything she could to make us welcome. Comfortable room and a lovely cooked breakfast. A good pub for food is only a short walk away.

We wanted to go to an auction nearby and needed somewhere to stay. Bridge Cottage was perfect for us. Miranda was very accommodating in taking our booking at the very last minute. We enjoyed our stay, the charms of the cottage and were very comfortable. It was very dog-friendly and our little girl got on very well with Nimrod. Breakfast was great and set us up nicely for the day. There are 2 pubs very close by; we went to the Greyhound, a 5 minute walk away and had a very enjoyable dinner. All in all, it was a great trip away. Recommended!

Set in a tucked away location in stunning countryside but still very close to a couple of pubs and the town of Midhurst. Don’t expect brand new rooms with the latest fixtures and fittings - this is an old house with charm. Breakfast was superb and we had a very comfortable nights sleep.

Following reviews i decided to book this for two nights. I was in for a surprise. Its basically a room in her house with lots of personal stuff cluttering the place. Under no circumstances would I call this a B&B. No locks on the door just a flimsy rope! Cluttered, dusty, dog hairs. Outside garden chairs mouldy! I'm not Miss Bucket but the place wasn't up to standard for B&B. NoI didn't stay, went elsewhere.

This place is unique in the B'n'B world. There's lots of reasons why, but the most important one is the host. The interior is a magical space because of her choice of art and decoration. And the whole ambience is obviously an expression of her artistic personality.Outside, the garden has a real variety of birds for you watch. The cottage is in a very peaceful location down a secretive lane and you can have all the quiet you want. Also Miranda does a brilliant breakfast! I would love to stay again

Lovely stay, friendly owner and peaceful atmosphere. If you're someone who likes fairytales, books, paintings and nature, you'll love staying here. We stayed with our toddler but they didn't have a high chair. However, they put a cushion over a normal chair to offer an alternative. Clean room and toilet with a view (no curtains) and a lovely garden to have a walk around in the evening...we had our dinner at The Greyhound which was a 5-minute walk away. They have a kids menu too! Overall, really pleased with our stay.

We had a wonderful stay here at Bridge Cottage on our way to Cornwall. Our host went out of her way to welcome us and ensure we were comfortable. Dinner at the suggested Royal Oak pub (an easy 5 min walk up the road), was excellent, and afterwards our spacious and comfortable bedroom allowed us a great nights sleep (which we needed after running a 10K at Hever Castle earlier in the day.) And if you’re sensitive to noise while sleeping, then you’ll love the peace & quiet of this location. For breakfast (offered from 6 to 9 AM) we were spoiled with the most delicious porridge I’ve ever had in my life (seriously!), along with our other choices selected from the generous list of items on the menu, supplied to us the night before. And all the while Nimrod the House ‘Puppy’ was there to give & receive lotsa love when needed.Bridge Cottage and it’s owner are jewels in the landscape of the Sussex countryside, and if you’re looking for a place to stay in this area then we highly recommend it.
