Staff very helpful and helped carry luggage upstairs. This is an 400 yr hotel so no elevators. Clean and good size double room. Nice restaurant and bar attached. Free parking and wifi. …

Well situated for access to many local attractions. Lovely food, well cooked generous portions. Friendly and helpful staff. Very nice comfortable rooms, but if you have dustmite allergy beware. Some surfaces were actually furry suggesting long term cleaning negligence.

As part of a group touring the UK, our first overnight was in the quiet town of Chirk. Very convenient with car parking to the rear. …

This is an old coaching Inn and so everything is old and creaky. Our room was small but adequate and the bed was extremely comfortable. The decor is a little tired and the shower slightly grubby. …

Lovely little hotel with bar and restaurant in a little village. The rooms were clean with spotless linen and towels. WiFi. TV and coffee and making facilities with plenty of supplies. …

Although the clean, dated room wasn't a bad size and was equipped with TV, tea/coffee facilities and very good free WiFi, the lasting impression was that accommodation isn't their core business! …

Attended a birthday party. The buffet was great. The pub was VERY busy. Bar area was far too over crowded, so service was slow.|Only real issue was wheelchair access - a portable ramp was provided, but not that stable (very old building with large stone steps) - felt unsafe using the ramp.

Our group of four stayed here in a Family Room as we hiked north along the Offa's Dyke trail. Javen on reception was incredibly helpful and went out of his way to assist us. Unfortunately, most of the rest of the staff we encountered, while very nice, seemed somewhat confused and not well suited to customer service. Our bedroom (room 2) was clean and the beds comfy, but every heating pipe in the hotel seemed to run through the room and it was ridiculously hot. We managed to wedge one of the old sash windows open with a glass which allowed a little air in, but the road outside can be very busy and noisy late into the evening. The shower in room 2 needs some maintenance work as it was hard to set it to a constant flow or temperature. Overall I was left disappointed and would have rated the hotel lower if not for all of the help provided by Javen.

Stayed here whilst doing the Offas Dyke walk (it's a short bus ride from Castle Mill, on the OD route). The room was clean and comfortable, the lounges, bar and dining area were pleasant. However, the shower in the room (room 7) was pitiful, dribble of water alternating between very hot and cold. Staff varied from being helpful to disinterested. Chef decided to leave the kitchen door open and sing along to the radio at full volume. One waiting team member spilt a large glass of wine over a customer and was more bothered about drying the table than the customer having wine soaking into their trousers.Food was OK.So a mixed bag, would try somewhere else if I was returning to Chirk.
