I recently stayed at this hotel and while the central location and cheap price seemed appealing, everything else was a disaster. Upon arrival, we were given a dirty room that hadn’t even been cleaned after the previous guest had left. We had to request a room change right away.I paid for late check-out on the first evening, but had a gut feeling the person at the desk didn’t do it correctly. I double-checked the next morning, only to find out it hadn't been applied at all, confirming the staff's incompetence. Our room was also sandwiched between two groups of loud, inconsiderate guests who spent the night running through the halls and banging on doors until the early hours of the morning. The room itself wasn’t much better—there was a noticeable split in the quilt cover and a suspicious brown stain on the carpet by the bed.Overall, a very disappointing stay. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.I understand you get what you pay for, id sooner pay for more elsewhere. This was our first night away as a couple in ten years since having kids, we loved the city but the accommodation left us on a downer.

A perfect stay.Rooms were clean and spacious and had adequate facilities for both me and my partner.Service from the front desk was great and wasn't robotic in the sense that you could have a laugh with them too.Location is perfect too. Over the road from the Amphitheatre and a 5 minute walk from the main strip in Chester.Highly recommend to anyone not wanting to break the bank but maintain a good standard!

Although the hotel is clean and in a central location, the noise from the Popcorn nightclub directly below our room that went on until well after 3 am was very loud, so avoid at all cost if you want to be able to sleep. …

Do not stay here!!! I wish I had read the reviews before booking. Yes, it's a great location and yes, it's good value, but the noise from the nightclub below is absolutely deafening so don't expect to get any sleep. I'm writing this at 1.45am, having been in my room since 11pm. Any chance of sleep is impossible!! And now there's screaming and shouting from outside! I shall be making a formal complaint in an attempt to get my money refunded.

We found someones lost bed clothes left hanging to dry in the bathroom, soap dispensers were empty.Floor was real dirty in the bedroom: I stood in mud (Im hoping it was mud) with my bare feet.Staff were lovely however. It's worth considering that the hotel is next to and above a nightclub, we don't have trouble sleeping with noise so that didn't bother us but for others the noise would be an issue this was on a Sunday night till at least 1.30am. The hotel has no control over this of course but light sleepers might want to try the Travelodge down the road. All good for us except they need to sort out cleaning.

After checking out, I asked the reception if they could keep my suitcase for a few hours. I was told that this is not possible, as the hotel no longer has a dedicated luggage room (since renovation). Even for a budget hotel such as Travelodge, this is not what one would expect, and it was kind of inconvenient to have to carry my suitcase with me all day.
