We were lucky enough to stay the final weekend of the season at New Wharf Campsite at the end of August 2024.I've not camped for over 40 years and went with my daughter and her boyfriend (who booked this for my birthday). Wow, what an amazing place. It is a stunning location and the campsite is very well run. It is obvious a lot of thought has gone into the planning of the site to include the logistics for visitors. The pitches are varied and include many very secluded positions overlooking beautiful countryside. The toilets and showers are also located across the site rather than being in a block arrangement. This makes a lot of sense and offers both practicality and a lot more privacy.Guests can access the nearby river by a private access within walking distance of the pitches (although launching a kayak is quite tricky if you have a fairly long kayak like me... ...but fortunately I had help!).There are fire pits for rent with logs available to buy at a reasonable price. The host's also offer pizzas from their pizza van every Friday evening. They are so good! In fact, we all agreed they are some of the best we have ever had!I used to camp as a child so to find somewhere like New Wharf Campsite after so many years feels very special. We all loved it and will definitely go back next year!

My favourite campsite by far. A beautiful open field with huge old oaks, tyre swings in the trees and delicious pizza on Friday nights. Ed and Elle are super friendly and helpful. It’s never crowded. Each group has huge amounts of space, and there’s loads of room for the kids to roam. The shepherds huts are a wonderful way to appease cautious campers, and the river is perfect for entertaining both kids and grown ups-conveniently there is also a kayak/canoe/SUP hire based there. The hot outdoor showers are perfect (bear in mind I really love camping), and the toilets are always clean-and there are plenty of them. Truly a 5 star campsite.

A really fantastic campsite where you can appreciate the beauty of the local Sussex countryside. We woke up to the sound of cuckoos every morning and it was so peaceful.Elle and Ed run the place with real care. We loved that our young kids could run around freely as cars are not allowed on the field. Facilities clean and excellently maintained (very simple but effective). Pizza van on Friday night is such a bonus! Will definitely return — one of the best sites we’ve been to in the UK!

We had a lovely 3 night stay here from Thursday to Sunday. Beautiful location with very generous pitch sizes. Ed made sure our stay was everything we could ask for by checking in and does a great deal on marshmallows and chocolate digestives 😊. We will be back!

Really lovely campsite in a great location. Huge mown pitch, shared with friends. Large BBQ fire pit allowed us to cook for 9 but could accommodate more. Pizza on Friday thoroughly recommended - Elle cooks an amazing pizza! Toilets and bucket showers all good and clean. Short walk to river which was great for paddle boarding. Quite fast flowing and silted/muddy, and signs said no longer recommended for swimming. Beautiful walks along the river and easy stroll to Henfield for pubs and supplies. Only feedback would be limited large communal washing sinks mean you are doing your teeth/washing hands whilst people are washing up. A shelter over the sink would help in rain. Definitely 5* and would return. Fabulous

I stayed here for 4 nights on a family camping trip. It's a family run business and the managers (Ed and Elle) are regularly on site and are really friendly and helpful. The site is huge and they do not over subscribe so you get a lot of space on your pitch, the next pitch is some distance away. The toilets and shoerrs are individual in woodens sheds (think Shrek). The toilets are chemical and very clean and well looked after. The showers are heated. There are plenty spread around the site, and you won't be far away from either.Cars are parked in a nearby car park. They have wheel barrows and trailers to transport your kit. There is no electricity. Fire pits and barbecues are welcome, and available to hire. Onsite shop has coffee, ice, fire wood and other various items. We had 7 kids with us who were entertained constantly with the tyre swings, go karts and connected forest. The Friday night on site pizza is fantastic from the pizza oven is fantastic. We loved it, and as long as you can live without electricity for a few nights, I've no doubt you will too!

Group camping trip. This is a lovely site with plenty of space. Good camp shop for basics. Enjoyed the kayaking on river Adur, which is on site. Allowed camp fire if using their hired fire pit. Only negative is the WC and shower facilities are a bit grim.
