The staff at the hotel are ALL amazing, friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was wonderful. We couldn’t fault that at all. So tasty. The rooms were so so clean. ||What let it down was the water stain on our ceiling.  …

I turned up, a young lad was on the desk. He kept disappearing but was very friendly and made laugh when he tried to add up the bill. Room was small but clean and not at all stuffy. I had a vegetarian risotto cooked to order, a decent portion - very nice, then at breakfast they served buffet and full breakfast (and they used Richmond sausages and poached eggs which both get a big thumbs up from me). Service was good and the feel of the place is somewhere between homely and stately British.. I hope that's fair! There's a kind of library area, which is just for show really, but is a nice touch. So many hotels are just trying to be glitsy but end up being cardboard box rooms, a refreshing stay.

Room very dated, dark and small. The shower not up to the job, as the very old electric heater didn't get the water to more then 'just warm ' and a very slow flow of water. Staff excellent and location for the city very good.
