We had such a lovely stay at the weekend. It is a very charming historical building. The location is great, it is opposite a cafe, the butterfly museum, hedge maze, crazy golf (all are cheap to do, you can even purchase a multi pass). …

Had a really good meal here on Tuesday. Excellent staff - all really pleasant and smiley and, wow did they work hard. Food was good especially the sticky toffee pudding. Reasonably priced too. We were seated in a conservatory which was lovely - comfortable on quite a warm day. Will definitely visit again.

We had dinner at this hotel on two nights during our stay nearby. The food was amazing and all of the staff were very friendly. They were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. They are dog friendly too. We would definitely recommend their restaurant.

Excellent friendly and attentive service. Thank you Andrew for looking after us so brilliantly and the kitchen team for providing us with beautiful food. |3 generations came for an evening meal and easily found something on the menu. All meals were beautifully prepared, I'm always impressed when some vegan options are available.

Stopped here for a coffee, staff were brilliant,a member of staff gave us directions to Symonds Yat and was very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is a fine example of Elizbethan architecture inside and out. When we return to the area next year we will book a table there as the menu looked good and was reasonable prices

We stayed in the self catering accommodation adjacent to the main hotel. Our cottage was spotlessly clean with everything we needed to enjoy our holiday. …

Friendly staff will go to the Earth’s end to make you happy. Clean, modern bathrooms with lots of hot water, heated towel racks. Neat as a pin.Lovely boutique hotel, originally a 14th century home owned by historic figures.Beautiful rose gardens on the grounds and a lovely patio where we enjoyed excellent meals al fresco, under sunny skies.Inside, we enjoyed wide plank floors, thick, soft tartan rugs and comfy furniture. We loved the cozy ‘study’ room on the main floor, where on more than one night, we chatted and were served fantastic Belgian hot chocolate and coffee until the wee hours.Excellent hot breakfast includes a buffet as well as wide variety of menu options. 😋 Hot, fresh, and expertly prepared. Our group of 14 were all treated as special guests and service was swift and professional. An excellent location near historic sites, fresh market, and a castle. Be sure to visit the Wye river just a few minutes walk, and take the fun and informative riverboat tour that’s been running for 80 years.Cannot recommend highly enough. Brilliant.

Lovely venue both inside and outside. Just take note the half a pint of Morretti lager is £4.00!!!!||When questioned if this was correct. The bar staff member said yes, and that the bar staff didn't set the prices. ||I know a profit needs to be made, but £4.00 for a half is a bit rich.

Seems I chose the wrong place to stay! I'm staying in coleford but finding anywhere to eat that is decent let alone for a celiac is proving impossible.  …
