We booked The Plough as we were attending a wedding nearby. We stayed for two nights, the room we stayed in was spacious with a settee and 2 chairs and table. The views from the room were amazing. …

Lovely place, great food. We were a party of 25. A bit haphazard delivery of food. Staff did not seem to know the difference between a child's lamb, a retired lamb and an adults lamb. Maybe different coloured plates would help. Food was delicious, especially the puddings. Staff were friendly and helpful though a little rushed, it's a huge place. We all went up to pay our bills, which was chaotic. There was a long queue at the till. We all seemed to be charged differently. I couldn't get the amount I paid to match the prices on the menu. The waitress even asked if they could contact the person who booked the table to pay for any shortfall at the end! Like she was going to know what everyone had eaten, let alone what everyone had paid!

We were on our way to Ireland for a driving holiday with friends. The Plough was a convenient location for an overnight stop on our way to Fishguard to get the ferry. Whilst the Plough had a good reputation, it exceeded our expectations. …

Brilliant customer service. Check in/out was easy and seamless with a friendly welcome. The hotel was very comfortable with a relaxing ambience. Food was fantastic with a great menu choice. All the staff were friendly, accommodating, interesting and were very helpful. The garden and patio seating areas were just what was needed in the lovely weather and with great country views. Parking was quite easy. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable, spacious and airy with countryside view.

I only went for Sunday lunch and didn't stay in the hotel. It was very nice and clean. The waitresses and waiters were very friendly and attentive. The food was very nice. The men behind the bar could do with being more friendly and even trying to smile.🙄 However I would love to go again.🙂🙃😊

Amazing food and a great selection of local ingredients. Possibly the best food I've ever had, highly recommend the pork belly special whilst it's still around. Worth booking ahead of time as they get busy, and even have dog friendly tables inside and out

Called in here for a restaurant meal and they were happy to fit two in. I looked at the menu and thought 'hmm, a bit pricey' so I went for the gammon while my partner went for a vegetarian meal. When the food came, I realised why the price was as it was.. the food was fabulous and none of this spot-on-a-plate stuff... the plates were full, as we were at the end. I took a wander around the inside, since the outside and its viewer were already showing it to be a good venue for functions. I found a few rooms here and there and one larger, but L-shaped room.. okay, could be ideal for functions, I suppose, even if the layout might be a bit bizarre. Food-wise.. great service, great tasting food and an adequate selection for meat eaters and non meat eaters.. We weren't allowed a starter (wrong time of day), but there we go.. the main course was big enough that neither of us wanted a dessert.Parking at the time we arrived was ample.. spaces available but I would suggest that there's a possible shortage of spaces if the place were full. Must say that the only negative that I could comment on was not really the fault of the staff... three of the ladies toilets were absolutely filthy, but, down to the female customers (how some people behave is abhorrent) but a quick word to the staff and within ten minutes a cleaner was on site and the ladies were brought back to a decent clean state. One cannot really fault that speed of response. The gents were clean! (Let's say no more on the male to female toilet behaviour).Casting a mind to an overall impression.... great setting, with gardens, ample room for medium sized functions, food to a great standard and choice with veggie meal choices, just potentially a carparking issue for larger groups. I cannot pass comment on the accommodation since I did not explore that. Would I recommend this place for dining?... yes... though would not class it as a regular.. but more a 'special event' type place.
