Stayed at the New House Country Hotel for my son's wedding last weekend. First off what can I say about the spectacular view in arrival. Some family members came over from Germany and fair play to the staff even with the language problem the staff were going out of their way to help everyone. The rooms were all lovely. Some had recently been renovated, others not - but they were all clean, well aired and maintained. All the staff - from reception, waitress/ waiter, bar staff and all others were polite, friendly and couldn't do more for us to have an excellent stay . The wedding was well organised with plenty of staff to serve during the wedding breakfast . Enjoyed my stay so much that it inspired me to book a night for my upcoming birthday next year . Highly recommend this hotel .🤩

Just got back from a great weekend attending a wedding at this hotel. Comfortable room with view out to the city, modern marquee where the wedding was held with friendly staff looking after the wedding guests all day. Nice choice of buffet breakfast the following morning. Would recommend as a wedding venue and a hotel stay.

Five Stars: A Perfect Wedding Venue with Stunning Backdrops! As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of working at many venues, but The New House Country Hotel in Cardiff truly stands out. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the breathtaking surroundings—the rolling hills, lush gardens, and the stunning views of Cardiff that provide the perfect backdrop for wedding photography. The venue itself is elegant and charming, blending classic country house style with modern amenities. The interiors are beautifully decorated, offering a variety of photogenic spots, from the grand staircase to the cozy, intimate corners. Whether capturing candid moments in the garden or formal portraits in the stunning reception rooms, every shot here is a masterpiece. The staff at The New House Country Hotel are exceptional—warm, accommodating, and attentive to every detail. Their professionalism and dedication to making the day perfect for the couple translate into a seamless experience for everyone involved. They work hand in hand with photographers, ensuring that the day flows smoothly and that every special moment is captured perfectly. For any couple looking for a wedding venue that offers both beauty and a touch of luxury, I cannot recommend The New House Country Hotel enough. It’s a dream location for wedding photography, and every wedding I’ve captured here has turned out absolutely stunning. If you’re considering this venue, book it—you won’t be disappointed!

Great venue with wonderful views, good quality food and fantastic staff.Having recently attended a wedding at the venue, I would recommend it for anyone looking to make their special day a enjoyable and memorable experience. The staff were universally helpful and diligent, helping with spare room keys for guests and keeping the event smoothly on track. They were even happy to provide a couple of plasters for my feet after my new shoes began rubbing my heels. Others who attended reported similar 'above-and-beyond' service, with all the staff happy to say "I'll go and check" if unsure how to deal with a request. The impression I took away was one of top professionalism within the teams, and both management and the staff should take full credit for making the day one to remember. The recent refurbishment and investment was praised by a number of guests who saw the venue from earlier this year, with the only criticism being the marquee feeling very warm.I regards to the food, I had a veg soup (which was ok), but the beef main was excellent. The preparation of the meat meant it came apart perfectly, succulent with a rich gravy and well cooked accompanying veg. The sticky toffee pudding was a little overdone, but the pairing with a really creaming ice cream scoop meant it was polished off in no time. Looking around at other tables after the meal, all I could see was empty plates - no higher praise can be said than that! With the location of the hotel being top class with stunning views of the valley and Cardiff, New House Country Hotel delivers on all fronts.

We attended a wedding and as a wheelchair user, going through doors wasn’t the best and there’s no lift. Also the access to the indoor marquee wasn’t great. Basically there’s a steep hill and the access is not very pleasant/untidy as it’s the back of the kitchens maybe? Maybe it could be made more presentable?Otherwise no problems with staff or location and they do a very nice breakfast 😊

Stayed here as maid of honour for my sisters wedding with my partner. The venue itself was lovely. The staff seemed over worked and not enough of them to help. We stayed in the Beatrice room in the attic, it was dated in need of redecoration and the mattress was awful. I asked reception for a change of room or a mattress topper as I suffer with my back. The best they could offer was and duvet to sleep on... not the best. Even the porter who put it on said the mattress was gone. Only managed about 4 hours sleep. I asked for some money back and the best they could do was £25, seeing as I paid £140 for 4 hours sleep doesn't seem like much compensation but owell stuff happens.
