Very pleasant Victorian-style hotel and great value with flexible options for continental/Full English breakfast included! Host was incredibly friendly and went out of her way to accommodate myself and my partner! I liked the nice view of the beach, which we were able to see through our window. It is also in a very convenient spot, close to the beach and a 5 minute walk to the pier. Beautiful with plenty of snacks and merch stands on the pier.

Perfectly situated near the prom and town. Nice friendly host, small room, bed and old fashioned decor but probably what I expected. Breakfast was lovely and piping hot both mornings. It’s worth phoning direct rather than going through booking.com

Well I don't know where to start. This hotel is supposed to be a 4 star hotel, but I'm sorry to say i would rate it 1/2. …

This hotel has lots of rules to abide by; the rules are printed off and stuck all over the place. …

Great little hotel thats very dated and in serious need of repair and modernisation. Had the Honeymoon suite so was expecting great things and was a shade disappointed. Was a quiet room but I think we were the only booking on that floor. Breakfast was included and very good with a food standards rating of 4/5. Hostess was very helpful.

Well I don't know where to start but I can tell you this is a true and honest review.I booked a family room for myself, daughter and two small grandchildren, yes I knew the hotel didn't have a lift but I wasn't told at the point of booking which was done over the phone, that it was on the top floor which consists of 6 flights of stairs a total of 53/56 steps, can you imagine carrying all the luggage that you need to take with children up to the room, back and knee breaking. But first of all during the afternoon I had a call around 3ish asking where I was, yet checkin is between 3-7pm. We were greeted very nicely upon arrival but what i did notice at reception that the walls were damp behind a radiator and the wallpaper was falling off.Umm not a good start seeing as it's supposed to be a 4 star hotel. We eventually got to our room which was very disappointing, damp patches all over the walls and ceiling, bathroom door handle hanging off, dirty shower head with hairs on it plus shower didn't work, dirty coaster by bedside chipped paint work and very grubby walls. The table with tea cups etc on well I went to lift it out of the way the the top of it just lifted up in my hands , very dangerous with young children around, a fridge in the room that didn't work a grubby stained chair to sit on, door handle falling off one of the draws, bed linen looked clean but felt dirty and pillows as flat as a pancake, no sink in the small toilet /shower room to wash your hands so each time you used the toilet you had to go to the other bathroom through the ajoining bedroom, bedside lamp shade was broken and falling to one side and to top it all I found a dirty tissue and a watch from the previous occupant and dust so obviously hadn't had a thorough clean and sanitized as said in the write up of the hotel, went for breakfast sat down to a table with a plastic table cloth, which you don't expect in a 4 star hotel and to top it all my breakfast arrived on a plate with a half inch dirty chip in it !!!!! The owner was not into making conversation with any of the guest. It also states on the breakfast menu to refrain from using mobile phones which I found very strange as the owner was on her phone texting etc.How this hotel has got to 4 star I do not know. All I can say is, the other rooms must have been pristine.Plus when we were checking out there wasn't anyone on the desk to take our key etc, surely if you know quest are leaving be around to thank them for staying. It's sure to say I won't be returning again!!!!!!It's a pity I can't post any photos on here but if you look on TripAdvisor I have posted some on there. I was really looking forward to a lovely break but hotel spoilt it.There was no point in complaining as the owner wasn't very approachable. Can I just say, I don't normally write reviews but I had to on this occasion and honesty is the best policy and that's why we have reviews.I honestly don't know what I paid £280.00 for, very upset!!!What a disgusting reply from you the owner!!!. Shocking. You are classed as titled a HOTEL 4 STAR.I put 1 review on here and 1 on TripAdvisor and didn't spend hrs.Not one apology from you. The room is in a shocking state and believe me I have paid less in a hotel than what I paid you and had a beautiful room with excellent customer service. You don't deserve anyone's custom !!!

Stayed in room 15, too floor(53 steps up/down). Nice spacious room, tea, coffee, hot chocolate & small bottle of wine available. Shower head needs replacing as it leaks/spurts water everywhere. Great breakfast, lots of choice & cooked breakfast very hot.

The room is clean. The quilts are very warm. The breakfast is very delicious and the host is extremely hospitable. The location is great, very close to the seaside, and there’s a Sainsbury’s just around the corner. Would love to stay here again!
