There is no doubt that the Ael Y Bryn is in a lovely quiet location with wonderful views looking towards the Llyn Peninsula with beautiful sunsets (when the sun actually makes an appearance!).We were staying for 2 nights in room number 4 - the twin room. I wondered why there was no picture of the room on the hotel's website, then I found out the reason why.......Although the room was small, it felt quite cozy and comfortable and included shower facilities but there wasn't much privacy. There was a vanity screen provided in the room but nevertheless it was a little uncomfortable having to do your private body washing etc whilst the person sharing the room - who isn't your wife or husband - is only 3 feet away from you! Call me shy if you like but we did nothing but grumble when wash time came! The shower itself was more or less a trickle, probably due to the fact that the shower head was in much need of a damn good clean - it was absolutely full of mould! However, the hotel itself is nice. The food was good, particularly the Beef Madras & the staff were helpful when they were around. If you are intending to stay here then try to AVOID room number 4!! I'm sure the other rooms were far more appealing and I wouldn't let our experience in room 4 put us off staying here again. If I were the hotel owners I would not sell this room, it would be better used as a store cupboard!!

Fantastic hotel, the nicest dog-friendly accommodation I've stayed in. Very friendly and helpful staff. Well catered for vegetarians and very hospitable for dog owners. We found Ael Y Bryn Hotel on Groupon and would definitely go back!

This is a gem of a hotel, we have just returned from a short break, and can't praise it enough. We had a beautiful room (2) with costal views, the staff are amazing, and the food is superb. Sian and Kevin are excellent hosts. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay such a pleasure. John and Margaret x

Room very rough and dated in a very poor state. Very, very noisey, loud music from bar. When asked to turn down at. 11.50pm refused. Food terrible. Only stay here if sleeping rough is the alternative. Avoid at all cost. Be warned!Stayed on 19/09/2016 meant to be for two nights left after one. Would have left same night if I had not been to tired to drive 3 hours home.

My husband and I and our grandson had a bar meal last night in this place and we were not pleased!! Must point out that we were looking forward to our meal as we came here last August with my grandson for my birthday and it was fine. But the chips were awful the burger was left by my grandson and husband complained about the mixed grill!! Also there was no chicken or gammon. Later in the night my grandson was violently sick which was the burger! DO NOT EAT ANY BURGERS!!.We will not be going there again.

The hotel is looking quite tired and I think struggling financially, no shower soap, room spacious but need of tlc, mattress has seen better days. PAT testing all out of date.Food is reasonable, breakfast is very good. Definitely not a 4 star hotel as stated.

Great couple of days. Breakfast is included and plenty of it too. Meal first night was basic but edible and the room was clean. I'll definitely be back.
