We stayed here for one night last summer (August 2023). The place itself is interesting since it's an old Chapel converted into a bed and breakfast. The village itself has its romanticism as something that has stayed the same for years. …

We were greeted by Yolanda, actually by chance. She was very welcoming and explained how things worked. This is a small guest house. All communication is done via WhatsApp which actually is very good. On the down side - the parking is limited with spaces for 6 cars. However I believe there are only 6 rooms so this shouldn't be an issue if, as you are asked, everyone parks sensibly. The upstairs floors are a little creaky and the walls a little thin. There is no facility for an evening meal and there are no restaurants in Blaenau Ffestiniog so you have to explore outside this town.On the plus side - the rooms are practical, clean and functional. They have a TV and tea/coffee facilities. The bathroom again is functional with a nice shower.A buffet breakfast is supplied, however it is limited. It was more than enough for us but if you're looking for a cooked breakfast you'll have to go elsewhere. This is a small but adequate guest house. No frills but priced accordingly.

We had a fantastic stay in room 6. The place is quiet and clean. Gareth was a wonderful and thoughtful host. Breakfast delivered to the room was yummy and generous. Only giving 4 stars instead of 5 as the bed was really soft and bouncy.

Don't even think bout staying here. Paper thin walls and flooring means you van hear everything from adjacent rooms like conversations, showers , TV's even bathroom noises. …

Lovely little B&B, tucked away in a peaceful back street but still close to the shops. Great breakfast supplied and lovely, well equipped room!

Give it a miss. Booked for 2 nights but left after the first night. Paper thin walls so could here what was going on in the other rooms like conversations, bathroom noises, TV's on different channels. My Room was No 4 upstairs and who ever was on the ground floor underneath me might as well have been in my room it was that noisy....especially when they decided to take a shower at 11pm.Totally impersonal host who conducts business via text message. Breakfast left in a cupboard on the landing....really !!!.Rm 4 had a strange odour...like musty damp or similiar...left my windows open all day but could still detect it on my return.Decided after one night to get out as couldn't face another evening/night of other people's noises.Told host I had left early and got a smiling emoji as a reply😁 so that says it all.If it was cheap to stay here maybe I could tolerate it but actually it's well overpriced for what you get.Book if you like but Don't say I didn't warn you afterwards.Part 2Now look at the reply by the owner to my review. This is a complete fabrication of the truth. I was a single traveller ( I don't even have a daughter) who arrived at a pre arranged time and was certainly not asked to leave.Just proves my point.

We loved our stay there, Gareth was very helpful through text, the room was comfy and smelled really good. The place was very clean and close to all local amenities. The breakfast was well made, a bit small when compared with a chain hotel, but was filling and kept us full until lunch. A really good option if you are planning on hitting the Zip World and really close to the train station. It was an overall a nice pleasant stay, especially for a small getaway. Would definitely come back!

I stayed here alone before a hiking trip the next day. Really friendly text messages beforehand and a nice clean and comfy room. Fresh scones for breakfast! …

2024....My review for 2018 is below when I gave it 10/10 but things have changed. . Good facilities and clean still. But the hospitality has gone all together. It's now self check-in and out. You won't see you hosts at all. No longer a full cooked breakfast in their downstairs dining room but just cereal and a bread thing left in upstairs corridor.Communication were decidedly frosty. When confused by the fact I'd need a code if arriving after 8/9pm I asked via text if it was the same owners as 2018. And the response was " why do you want to know?" which took back some what. I am not convinced it's the same owners, as I remember such a warm couple who I chatted to about the chapel and the disused railway.Think of this as a hostel with private decent rooms and you won't be disappointed.Having read all the reviews here, no doubt I'll get a fictious reply..2018 review....Clean and comfortable. This Chapel has been converted into b&b. Not the most sympathetic conversion, but the room was clean warm and an plenty of hot water. Good shower.Cooked breakfast was excellent.Parking outsideWould definitely stay again
