First off, dog friendly. Always a bonus in my book.We had a great one night stay here. Pricing was weird as on their website, it was 165 to book direct hut standing in the lobby rooms were listed at 125.Old-fashioned but not in a bad way with some wonky floors and quirky layouts, but we love that sort of thing. The rooms had some fantastic decor, although they could have done with a deeper clean. Nice big windows to see out through the village and plenty of mirrors and seating in the rooms. They had sockets by the bed, which is always a bonus. The atmosphere in the bar was fantastic as there was a folk band playing and loads of people came to see and join in.Staff were really lovely, polite and happy to talk to guests. We had a small meal (just starters) which was so delicious. Nicely cooked and presented beautifully. The bread baskets came out and had what seemed to be freshly baked bread in.We also had breakfast as part of our stay where you can choose from a good range of options as well as having a choice of cereals and fruit as well.Overall we had a fantastic stay.

Top notch Sunday lunchDon't be put off that the outside looks a little tired or that there has been a change of ownership recently, the chef is unchanged and the food is superb. Freshly cooked Sunday lunch, faultless, and very good value. We chatted with a local who comes every week for lunch on Sunday and it's always good. I thoroughly recommend. Thank you 😊

My sister and I holiday in Wales yearly and have found this gem of a place to eat, the biggest bonus is they allow dogs, which is a must as we both have dogs. The food is amazing and cannot fault it. We always book in advance as we really do not want to miss out. The staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed.

Rooms were a bit antique and no water. Phone charger, usb points or fridge. But very comfortable beds. Food excellent and high quality. Machynllaeth is a lovely, unspoilt town, well situated for so many beautiful locations. Staff were very friendly, informative and helpful. Can't wait to return for a longer stay.

Lovely old fashioned hotel. Large bedroom, comfortable bed. All clean. Decor a little tired, but that added to the experience. Great lounge area, and we had a fantastic evening meal and a very tasty breakfast.

This was the last stop for me on the Glyndwr's Way for 2024, and of all the B&Bs, inns etc it was the least value for money. The public rooms are fine and atmospheric, but the bedroom & ensuite needed a bit of an update. …

We had a very nice meal this evening served by some really fun & friendly staff. We chose the baked mushroom to start with & pollock & duck for the mains. Both were cooked extremely well. Yes the environment is dated, as was the background music, but that shouldn’t deter you from visiting.

Excellent meal and friendly staff. Had two gluten intolerant folks in our group but menu was very gluten free friendly and staff very helpful with any questions. Everyone enjoyed their meals so can recommend it for group with varied tastes! Good value overall.
