I recently stayed at this lovely place with my husband while he was getting ready to start the Dragons Back race.Lovely room with a view of the beach which is easy to walk to from the pub. The staff were all lovely and Gavin prepared a breakfast bag for my husband to have at 4am in the morning plus left cereal and fresh milk in the bar fridge for him to help himself to.I need to mention the lovely breakfasts as well - delicious !Gavin - thank you so much for everything you did to make our stay so easy and stress free.I would 100% recommend anyone to stay here.

Nice pub, we didn't sleep there.Reservations are (as mentioned in several reviews) very strange. We could only make a reservation at a certain time, and when we arrived half the pub turned out to be empty. (???)The food was OK, steak good, burger less so (bare), curry OK (soup, but fine with extra rice) stout beer fine.Service was very pleasant.

Just stayed a week locally to The Gladstone and it became our ‘go to’ place virtually every day after visiting the beach with our dog, Ruby. We absolutely fell in love with the place - it’s a wonderful and relaxing place, with great food and lovely staff. Our Ruby was spoiled by Mandy each day who gave her biscuits and a big bowl of water on arrival, and we couldn’t get over how accommodating of dogs Gavin and his team are, both in the bar areas and restaurant. The place has a lovely vibe, and Gavin made us feel so welcome. Thank you to Gavin and his team SO much - we’ll definitely be back one day soon! Linda, Andy and Ruby xx

I can just speak about the food, the service and the interieur. The service was excellent, they especially treated our dog very well which is an important criteria for us. The Fish&Chips were as expected and even 2-3 pounds cheaper than in comparable pubs. The only thing which was not exactly my thing was the interieur and the way the pub was decorated. That never screamed "typically pub to me, but maybe that is just my weired taste! ;-)
