I was in a single room on the first floor. It had been renovated and the room was large and clean. No lift so one of the staff helped me with my heavy suitcase. The ensuite was modern and very comfortable. Very quiet location. …

Our room was in the basement but the two windows that looked out to a turfed courtyard gave ample lighting to an otherwise dark room. We liked the comfy bed and the quiet neighbourhood. …

We arrived at the property around 4 o’clock, so we were extremely glad of the late check in. The hotel is easy to find with its bright red door on the exterior. …

Expected something more like a hostel but this was definitely a good address. Started our road trip here and stayed 3 nights. Bed very comfortable, room very big, bathroom clean and no noise at all. …

Live locally and came here for lunch. Not busy which is a shame. Good vegan choice. Had tomato soup and halloumi and Mediterranean veg roll which were stand-out tasty. Great pot of tea. Coffee alright. …

We had a great night in a very generously sized double room for only £69 for the night. The hotel is very close to the Shore down in Leith and all its cool bars and cafes as well as Michelin starred The Kitchin. Also, there's a bus stop nearby, which takes you right up to the city centre so don't bother with Uber etc.The host/manageress was really nice and helpful. The cafe is also well presented and the whole place is just simple and clean.

The poor rating for this hotel is mainly due to the price charged. My fiancé and I stayed here this past weekend and paid £145 for one night.||The staff were very nice and helpful when we needed them. …

First the good. This property is in a great location in Leith, just a short and pleasant walk to the port and some great restaurants. The property is clean and the room we stayed in was large with a nice modern bathroom. However! We were put in room 10 on the second floor, up 50 steps with heavy suitcases and NO elevator. I am 74 years old and was not offered any help. The room was very stuffy and poorly ventilated. The pillows were thin and the mattress uncomfortable. When we asked about parking we were told to park on the footpath while unloading but that there was no other parking available.

We stay here all the time. Try and get a room upstairs if you can but they are all large with really comfortable beds and a clean, wonderful shower. No bells and whistles but great value. The cafe at the front serves great coffee and tea and you can get a great breakfast at Rocksalt across the street.

We stayed at GPO for a few nights. To begin with the location, is quite convenient as a few meters further there is a bus stop and around the area you have options to eat or drink something. …
