Minto House was perfect for our 6 night stay. The host was very kind and accomodating. The room was always kept warm and comfy. The bathroom was nice and modern with an easy to use shower and a lovely large mirror. We always came back to a tidy room with the coffee and loo roll restocked. It was absolutely perfect for us as we like to take our time getting ready and walking into town. There are plenty of nice places to grab food or drink along the way too, and the walk to the Royal Mile only took 20 minutes, which I wouldn't say is long at all. I don't think the room was as dated as people say, I think it had a cosy historic charm and I loved how it felt like a home rather than a hotel. Will definitely be staying here again next time we visit Edinburgh.

My daughter and I stayed here for 5 nights in September. Lovely little house, in walking distance from the main part of town, plus a bus stop almost directly out front. …

When we arrived, our rooms were being prepared, this was because we arrived early. Nadia allowed us to leave our bags at the guest house so we could go out and enjoy our day. When we got back, we checked in.  …

With no exaggeration, I had a tremendous stay.Rooms were like home, owners were so accommodating. Everything I asked for , they gave it!The area is nice and quiet despite being walking distance from both university campuses and main roads. Lots of food places nearby and a bus stop right outside that goes to all the major spots in Edinburgh.Great value for money and reasonably priced, recommend it to all!

I’m writing this review from our room in the guest house. We arrived on the 6th - Parking is around the back (look for the number 24) Immediately felt at home by the warm welcome we received when we checked in. …

Booked a room for a week with a friend of mine.Overall I am quite pleased with this B&B.Nadia was very nice and knew the answer to every question we had about our plans for the day.The house is old but clean and has lovely tapestry&furniture. The only thing which was absolutely not acceptable were the mattresses in our room, springs stinging my back the whole week. Very inconvenient if you have long and exhausting trips plannend. The breakfast is not very diverse either, but edible.Would recommend this for a short stay and people with no back issues.Quite cheap as well, we payed 420 pounds for 2 persons, 7 nights and including breakfast.

A very much belated review; I stayed in this lovely B&B in the autumn of 2012 (I think before Google Reviews existed!) for a whole month as an international student on exchange with Edinburgh University.Spacious, clean & simple room with a pretty view overlooking the front garden & street. All amenities are there, including radiator heaters (great for warming up clothes in the morning or drying off socks!), & owner Nadia was absolutely wonderful & helpful. Free wifi (although a bit patchy in my room, I sat on the staircase for better reception), 15 minutes walking distance to South Bridge, Waverley Station & the city centre, & there are bus stops right outside going both directions. Will be my first accommodation choice for future trips to Edinburgh.
