We picked this superb hotel for its location under Arthur's Seat around Hollyrood Park. It is in the university complex but a quiet, peaceful location with a gate so feels safe. …

Just back from a 3 night stay at The Scott and couldn't be happier. The staff were absolutely amazing, so helpful and friendly but very professional at the same time. The building is stunning (check out the ceiling in the dining room) and in a perfect location very close to Arthur's seat, which we climbed on the second day. Our room was perfect, so comfortable and full of lovely extras; welcome drinks, coffee machine, biscuits, fluffy bathrobes etc. Breakfast was great but the highlight for us was the tasting menu at Bonnar's for dinner which was exceptional. Every plate was amazing and the fish course was perfection! Thanks to Skye and Matteo for looking after us so well. All in all I can't recommend this hotel enough and we will definitely be coming back again soon.

Absolutely fabulous hotel. Staff were so friendly, and the attention to detail was amazing - even down to having makeup remover in the rooms. Breakfast was delicious, the dining room and bar are beautiful. Rooms are cozy and very modern. Bed was one of the comfiest I’ve ever slept on! Location is good, one bus straight down to the royal mile or a lovely 25 min walk.Thank you so much for a delightful stay!

Before I booked I read the reviews. There were mixed reviews but the negative ones were older. I can truly say I am soooo happy I booked our stay here. The staff is above and beyond friendly. The location is a perfect walk to anywhere. There’s even a continental breakfast every morning that includes breads, meats and cheeses, cereal, and parfait. Any time of the day you can make your own coffee or tea and get a delicious glass of fruit infused water. The rooms are recently updated and even had heated tiles in the bathroom. I can’t say enough great things about this adorable, beautiful, and awesome place to stay.

Beautiful building. Nice that we got a room on the ground floor. The staff was great, helping to give us ideas on where to eat (and their suggestions were great!), and very helpful. Location on the Edinburgh University campus was convenient for parking, and was about a 15 minute taxi ride to the city center. It is also located very close to Arthur's Seat, which is a great hike, and the peak offers fantastic unobstructed views of the city. Salisbury Arms is right across the street and is worth a visit as well for a good meal or for a few drinks.

Edinburgh is hilly and an iconic city to explore. This venue was located on a reasonably flat walk to the centre. The accommodation offered your own room and ensuite. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was gentle. …
