Loved our stay here. Really nice rooms, very comfortable. Nice lounge area downstairs if you want to relax out of the rooms. Breakfast was very nice and had a great view out to the bay. The hotel is located walking distance from the ferry with plenty of parking. The bar is a really nice place to spend an evening with some great drink options and nice food, clearly very popular as it was busy both weeknights we were there. The thing that made our stay was how nice all the staff were throughout and they were great with our dog always giving him attention. Dogs are welcome in the bar at night and into the breakfast area in the mornings.

Saved this spot as I heard the brasserie was a good dog-friendly spot. We had some time to kill on a Sunday afternoon before the ferry and so came in for some drinks. Place was beautiful and all of the staff were lovely and helpful. Great menu with lots of choices and we really enjoyed it! Only wish we had time to try out the food as it looked great

Just back today from an Itison deal at the Douglas hotel and what an amazing stay it was (wish I had booked 2 nights). Stayed with my husband and our beloved Samoyed and we were treated like royalty. …

First time in Arran, it’s a great, peaceful and tranquil place to be for a short break. Many great places to visit. The hotel was a 2 minute drive from the ferry terminal. Douglas Hotel was extremely clean and tidy, rooms were immaculate, nothing to much trouble for the staff, staff were kind and helpful, lovely welcome on arrival, dog friendly (also got a little sausage for breakfast too!) and breakfast/tea were delicious not one of us had a bad meal. Would definitely recommend staying here.

This is my 1st time visit Arran, I’m took car ferry here in the morning and should be take last ferry return. However due to worse weather, it’s cancel at last minute. I have to stay over night. Even I just short stay at Douglas, I can full relax and enjoy the stay. If I have chance come back Arran and stay, here is my first choice☺️

Popped in for dinner after climbing Goat Fell with the kids and dog. Ate outside with gorgeous views of the hill we'd just climbed and the sea front. Staff were brilliant - kind and helpful... great with kids and the dog! Food was great. Just what we needed. We'll be back!

Two day stay in Arran to perform at the Arran Festival of Music. My accommodation was elsewhere, but I went to the Bistro in the Douglas on both days for evening meals. …

Stayed in the Goatfell suite, lovely large room with a magnificent view over the bay and of Goatfell. Staff very friendly and food in the bar decent. My only criticism is it would have been nice to have the flood lights on the front of the hotel turned off at perhaps midnight - it would have been special to fall asleep gazing at the night sky through the windows, but really had to draw the curtains. It was still a superb stay though.
