The location is bit far from city centre. The rooms are quite tidy but clean. But their breakfast buffet is not good with no proper range of dishes. No eggs were there you have to ask the waiter and they serve you only one egg with taking half hour to fry.

Positives - friendly check-in from the receptionist (american lady), and a great location for the purpose of our stay.|Negatives - Very tired decor, and quite a dingey feel to the small double room. …

Visited this hotel around 2 to 3 years ago, and then the rooms in annexe building opposite the main hotel were in need of a revamp. Very pleased to say that the rooms in this part of the hotel are much improved. The bathrooms have bigger and better showers and the rooms are a good size. There are much better security door locks, too.

Stayed here for 2 nights while celebrating my daughter’s 18th birthday. Perfect location for pubs and food and close to a public park for a refreshing walk.Room was small but really pretty and very clean.Check-in was across the road where there staff clearly wanted to be elsewhere. We interacted with 2 different guys on the front desk, both seemed to have no time for guests.Beautiful place, just a shame about the reception

I had a most unpleasant experience at the Argyll Guest House recently. I was on a family trip with my three grown daughters and we stayed one night here on our tour of Scotland. …

It's an old but well maintained property. Thr bathroom has been renovated. The windows were not good enough to stop the noise from the street or people talking. Conveniently located there is street parking in the areas around for £8/3 hrs. It's free parking from 6 pm to 8 am. Just be mindful to not park on the loading bays that are right in front of the hotel entrances. The rooms are on on the opposite side of the road from the checkin desk and restaurant. The breakfast was good and had all the usual items.

Stayed here for a weekend. Small but nice room. Heating is great. The breakfast is lovely. Plenty of choice. Close to plenty of places to visit and eat. Only disappointment we were in room 1 which was right by the front door so we were kept awake a lot by the door constantly being opened and shut as people returned after a night out. Also as it was by the entrance there was a lot of loud talking and laughing which kept us awake too. Nice hotel, would go again but would definitely request another room.
