My girlfriend and I booked this accommodation for two nights for a friend's wedding in the hydro next door. On first entry we met the owner Avril sitting at the door. …

This smelly, stuffy, dusty & damp house was a hellhole!|We picked up the key at 3.30pm on a Saturday on our way to a wedding nearby. The beds had not been made. …

I stayed at the Carlton Seamill for one night a couple of weeks back as a last minute decision and I have to say it was one of the best decision I have taken. The owner Avril was so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble and we chatted for long periods about numerous different topics. The house is totally original which I loved and the views over to Arran from my bedroom window were breathtaking. The bed was very comfy and the breakfasts are amazing and it is no wonder this Guest House has won several high profile awards for its accommodationThis Carlton Seamill is a true gem and if you are looking for somewhere to stay for one or a few nights then I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it.Good luck with your future fight against the new legislation the Scottish Government are trying to bring in and I will be up for another visit in the near future with my wife this time.

The house was very atmospheric and stylish with a really beautiful view, the back garden goes practically straight over the coast and I think that's what people are looking for when they see such an offer, all standards of cleanliness and hygiene were maintained and I don't understand the whining in previous opinions that it wasn't modern enough . If someone is looking for something modern, I invite you to the smelly center of Glasgow for £150 a night with a view of the wall opposite, or pissing bums. There were no problems with the water, in the evening I took hot bath in the bathtub without any problems. Avril was helpful and friendly, took good care of us and, of course, invited us in the future and we will probably come back someday, and if not, I will recommend this place to my friends with a clear conscience.

We recently stayed at the Carlton Seamill B&B. Avril, the owner was very friendly and made us feel very welcome in her home. Our conversations were very interesting. The house is very old and full of character. It’s like stepping back in time. The view from the bedroom is superb. We visited Portencross castle, Largs and Wemyss Bay. We really enjoyed our weekend and would love to visit again.

I recently stayed at Carlton Seamill and was wonderfully looked after by the hostess, Avril. Carlton has been Avril's family home for over 70 years and it is a treasure trove of family history and an absolute delight for 'vintage' lovers like me. The view from our bedroom window must be one of the best views in Scotland - over the sea to Arran. The beach is literally seconds away. It felt like a home from home and was a pleasure to be there from the moment we arrived to when we left. Lots of parking and a wonderful full scottish breakfast available. The very opposite of a sterile anonymous hotel. Highly recommendedDate of stay: September 2022Tip: Chat with Avril - she has many interesting stories to tell.

A perfect stay before our 7am ferry to Arran. Avril was warm, welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay. The house is incredibly beautiful and the room was extremely cosy (loved the heated blanket).Possibly the best view we've ever had from an overnight stay. Watched the sun set over the sea after our dogs (who Avril was very accommodating with) had been for a run on the beach - which is just at the bottom of the garden. We shall be back again!

Avril was a great host. She was very helpful and advised us of the best places to go. She greeted us when we returned from our night out and asked if she could do anything for us. We enjoyed a wee night watching the sea view and enjoyed a comfortable nights sleep. The house itself is amazing. It’s an old Victorian building and we enjoyed talking to Avril about its history over a delicious cooked breakfast and a pot of tea. There was so much memorabilia to see that a two day visit would probably be better to see everything!I would say that the tap dripped but as explained when we arrived that Avril is awaiting a plumber to fix it, it was no big deal to us.If anyone enjoys history and wants to gain some knowledge of Seamill, I would highly recommend this lovely b&b. Thanks again Avril. Will see you again sometime.

I was looking for a modestly priced B&B to stay in for a couple of days. I was fortunate enough to come across Seamill B&B.The hostess is very friendly and a great conversationalist.I opted for a scottish breakfast which in all honesty defeated me on the first morning, It was however, delicious. If I go back to Scotland I would stay here again without hesitation.
