Went to the middlegate cafe today with my partner. Had a lovely meal, freshly cooked. The owner was very friendly and we had a nice chat with him. Will call again next time we visit. Thank you.

I booked this hotel in advance but cancelled on arrival. The owner seems rather out of touch, everything was a joke. …

Didn't stay here but did join a group staying at the Middlegate for drinks and supper. Clearly needs some love and attention but can't fault the staff for going out of their way to make sure the group had a good experience.  …

Firstly let me say that the owners Peter and Hailey are extremely friendly and helpful, even though we were later than the time agreed to check in Peter helped us such a lot!!Our room was extremely clean and bed were really really comfortable so we slept well on our 3 night stay.Breakfast was included in the price and was lovely. I can honestly say they are working so hard in these unprecedented times. We will certainly stay again.

This place should be condemned. I've stayed in some shady places but this one tops them all. It's filthy and smells . If I had a choice I would have ran for the hills . Thank god i only stayed 2 nights. In dire need of a clean and refurb. I know times are hard but give it a clean . Only plus side is location.

Yesterday morning we rang the hotel after learning our afternoonferry to Ireland had been cancelled and needing somewhere to stay until early the next morning when we were due on the next ferryPeter was incredibly helpful and arranged a room for us in short notice, have us a quiet room at the back of the hotel so we could get some rest and arranged a taxi for us.The room was clean and comfortable and just perfect for our needs. The bed in fact was particularly comfortableThank you for helping us out on a cold rainy day!
