It was just a lovely stay at Phil's. We didn't have the best room in the house probably (booked very lately, actually almost the same day as we arrived), but everything was clean and Phil was the best host ever. We are looking forward to visiting Wales again and when we do, we will stay again in this beautiful place!

Myself and my mum enjoyed a wonderful stay. After a long journey from Australia Phil created a comfortable stay with a warm room with cozy beds. The view from our room was wonderful... And the breakfast excellent. The lounge area was excellent with microwave / fridge / amenities. Would highly recommend.. Thanks again Phil.

Well, where do I start? We booked a three night stay based on the listings on the web page plus photographs! We arrived about 5.45pm, and were met by the host, who was seemingly wearing a teeshirt and pyjama bottoms! …

Very peaceful location. Although there was a mixup with the booking, owner Phil could not have been more gracious and friendly. Clean and comfortable. No mobile phone signal and wobbly WiFi so not ideal if you need that.

My wife and booked a 3 night break. Our room was clean, tidy, comfortable and had plenty of drawer space and wardrobe space.Breakfast was effectively a full English or any selection of those ingredients with choice of juices and of course tea or coffee. Note that the bread was top dollar being home baked.Whilst no evening meal is available the host has made available a small dining area within the guest lounge and is open to your bringing in a takeaway. Cutlery and crockery is also provided. A microwave is also available for reheating ready meals and there is a fridge should you need to store things. What sgrest idea. Our host, Phillip, was lovely person and looking after his guests was a priority.Location is in a quiet valley village with easy access to the surrounding area.

We arrived and were met by the host, Phil, who appeared to be wearing a teeshirt and pyjama bottoms, it was about 5.45pm. The room was cold when we arrived. We had to use a hairdryer to generate some heat. The curtains had been closed making it even colder. After our first night, we went out the following day and when we got back, the bin wasn’t emptied nor were the towels replaced. The tea or coffee was’nt topped up either and the cups were also unwashed. I had to ring the out of hours bell to request the things we needed, and every day too, not just a one off. The location is in a valley (Cwmduad/Duad Valley) which gets very little sun, especially in the back rooms. (Room 1 downstairs) This accommodation is advertised as a 3 star hotel. It’s definitely is NOT that!! We had to use the knife and plate from our cooked breakfast to cut our toast and to spread the butter/marmalade on etc. There was no side plate or second knife provided for this. The tables are only covered with a plastic oil cloth, like grandma’s kitchen 60 years ago. Not really nice for guests! On day 2 and 3 we decided a bowl of cereal and toast was enough. The beds were very comfortable, but everything else was low standard and very basic. The host, Phil seemed to not be a very chatty or friendly person. I helped my mother run a B & B for several years, soI know how one should be run and how guests should be treated. I’m afraid we were rather disappointed with the accommodation and cannot recommend it. Definitely wouldn’t stay there again.
