We'd never been to South Wales, and found Heronstone Lodges in an ideal location, to enable us to explore. We are so pleased we chose this exceptional place. All information leading up to our visit were clear and informative.  …

Well where do I start.... I phoned the mobile on the Website. A lovely lady by the name of Maria answered and she was very helpful. She sent me the price for the lodge via text, I phoned and asked her if my niece & nephew could visit. She said we don't normally allow visitors but if you let me know who is coming I will authorise them to visit I thought brilliant so I booked the lodge, and told her 2 adults will call Wednesday and 2 adults and 2 children Thursday. When we arrived, I reminded her of them visiting and that they would only be staying 1 hour before we went out. When our visitors arrived Maria came over and told them they should not be here!! She was quite unpleasant and made it uncomfortable!!!With regards to the lodge it was beautiful and clean so was the hot tub. The WiFi was hit and miss on the TV! The cutlery was basic and blunt. The procedures for the cabin should be put on the website. Especially the checking out procedure .... the charges for not stripping the beds £10, emptying bins £10, cleaning the oven/grill and pots £10, and £20.00 for any extra cleaning they must think needs doing🙄 I always clean wherever I've been due to having a dog.It also states towels included, only 1 hand towel in kitchen and 1 in the bathroom. But it states in the procedure booklet £10 per person for towel and robe. 😏I take my own anyway.Alot of the lodges were being refurbished. After moaning at our visitors Maria seamed distant shame as it s a lovely place.

Awesome place with awesome hosts. Cabins are top notch. Clean, well presented. All the mod cons. There's a small park for kids. Plenty of walks and things to do nearby. Close to the local village for shopping. The hosts Lisa & Maria could not be more helpful. Anything and everything is no trouble for them at all. Fast response to any problem (of which I personally I had none)If you're in the area and looking for a cabin retreat this is the place to go. I really couldn't recommend it more

I've stayed here on a few occasions. It's so peaceful and relaxing. The hot tubs are private and undercover so what ever they weather it doesn't matter. The rooms are lovely and beds are really comfortable. Lovely wildlife birds squirrels. It's not far from a small village and pubs if you wish to go for lunch. We had Indian delivered one night which was lovely. Maria always makes us feel welcomed. We have booked again for November and next February already can't wait.
