St. Govan's Inn

Great choice of beers that are regularly changed. I had a lovely pint of Butty Bach. We all came back on the Saturday and had a table booked for 12. The service and food was excellent. Can recommend the Cawl soup, and the burger. Generous portions too.

Got there early, after a ten mile walk. Thirst was almost painful. Had an ice cold Moretti to quench the thirst. You know. The cold cold type with a misted glass where a drip would meander slowly through the fog down the side. By the time I hit the door it was gone . Was also a beautiful hot summer day in Wales. The rare ones that hurt unless you move your chair regularly. Anyway as I said , got there early. Bought a bag of cheese and onion crisps with the second Moretti. Sat outside just by the St Govans sign on a little round two chair plastic table. It was bliss. Me on my own sat back , sipping a beer in the blazing sun. The Govans sign creaking gently in the wind. Nobody to answer to , nowhere to be , pure unadulterated bliss. Then I noticed the cheeky little chaffinches hopping about under the tables. Threw a crisp down and knowing they were seed eaters, was surprised to see them flying down, smashing the crisp and flying into the eves to feed the fledglings. Soon the sun the beer and the creaking sign had the better of me , and my eyelids closed. Suddenly I heard a loud voice shouting, their attacking. Grab your sword and climb on. Confused I jumped up, opening my eyes to see a stunning bright red dragon looking straight at me. Not knowing what to do I just jumped on . With a huge wooshhh, his wings lifted us into the sky. You forgot your sword you moron he roared at me. What have I told you about that place and it's magic drinks. We are being attacked at St Govans . The pirates have come. Heady from the ale and not sure quite what was happening, the dragon swooped down between the huge shore cliffs. It was a scary fantastically terrifying experience. Then with a lurch upwards we shot up into the sky and back down faster than any rollercoaster ever. I could see the small church huddled between the rocks. With a hoard of pirates scrambling towards it. With a massive roar the dragon opened its huge maw and ..... With a big snore of embarrassment I opened my eyes. Luckily there was nobody else around. Just a cheeky chaffinch sitting on the edge of the table. Beautiful pub with great staff . Sometimes it oddly closes on a Saturday afternoon. No idea why. Been back many a weekend and had a lovely pint , listening to the gentle sign and feeding crisps to the chaffinch. Never have I seen the dragon again and often wonder , was it a dream or ??? Enjoy this place my friends and don't forget to feed the finches xx

They did not cater for gluten free needs and we're unhelpful and rude

From the outside it gives the impression of a typical pub. But the rooms are a really positive surprise. Very lovingly prepared with a great bathroom, clean and well maintained. The dinner in the restaurant was also great.

Food is lovely and always ask for more gravy it's yummy

Lovely rustic pub with an inviting and cozy atmosphere. The lady and gent who were working were beyond lovely, providing exceptional service and making us feel truly welcome. We had the burger, dirty fries, and chicken tikka, all of which were delicious and exceeded our expectations. The food was well-prepared, flavorful, and satisfying.Thank you so much to the staff for their warm hospitality and for making our visit memorable. Additionally, the pub also serves as a hotel, and based on our dining experience, staying here would undoubtedly be a delightful and convenient option. The charming setting and friendly staff make it an ideal place for both a meal and an overnight stay.Toilets have been done up and are lovely too.

Lovely pint of Butcombe beers. Food was decent enough. Parking is woeful.
