We stayed here for two nights while doing a Discover Scotland Bus Tour on the Island. Fiona was a spectacular host and very attentive to making sure everything during our stay was great.Breakfast was ready every morning with tons of options to choose. From breads, cereals, fruits, cheeses, cold meats, eggs, etc etc. Coffees and Juices also. A beautiful view of the surrounding hills and the harbor were viewable from both of windows in our room. The balcony/deck outside the front entrance is right on the shore and perfect for relaxing on and watching the sun come up or down while drinking coffee.Right next door is Ling Haaken Pub which has delicious evening food at fair prices. Short two minute walk from Winklebeech BnB. Check it out for sure.If you are looking for basic accommodations in a room this is the place. We are simple people who simply needed at the end of a day of exploring a comfortable bed, a shower and toilet, and WiFi to catch up on sending photos to family at the end of the day. Winklebeach BNB had it all and was perfect. If you’re looking for a Ritz Carlton style room for a night this won’t be your place.Thank you Fiona for a great stay!

The place has a good view (seriously, my neighbours had a great view of the aurora which I missed!), Fiona was lovely, and I enjoyed breakfast. However, I woke up both mornings with bites over my body that look like bedbug bites (I never actually saw any bugs though).Other than this, the room was quite dirty, there were other bugs and a spider in my room. There was mould in the shower, and the bathroom sink didn't look like it had been wiped down. The plates and glasses for breakfast were also dirty and nothing was set out for me on the second morning. When I arrived, Fiona didn't have my reservation in the system (her piece of paper written on with pen), which had been organised and confirmed with Rabbies.I felt very dirty here, got 2 hours sleep the last night, and was glad to leave.N.B. I saw a previous review for "Winkle Hall" (same place, different name) on Trip Advisor had similar issues, though a few years ago. (My bites looked the exact same.) I don't respect the response that person was given. A professional response would explain how often this place organises exterminators to visit or has a deep clean. And, yes, no one should be paying to pick up bedbugs, which can be impossible to get rid of. I'm also not happy with how expensive this stay was in lieu of the condition it was in, though I haven't asked for a refund at this point!

I was very lucky to see the incomparable sunset scenery. The important thing is that this beautiful scenery is also the window view of the room ~
