Winklebeech B&B

Celebrated new year 18 years ago in these apartments. Very good location, nice view from the terrace. At that time there was a good pub nearby, unfortunately I don't remember the name. If I get a chance, I will definitely stop here. I recommend

Excellent BnB. Fiona the owner is very sweet. Great breakfast. It's right next to King Hakkon Bar which is very convenient. Definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting Skye and staying in Kyleakin.

We were there 3 years ago. Small, clean, completely sufficient. The friendly owner is great and serves a delicious breakfast.

Very nice, organized and clean.The accommodation had what was necessary for the stay. Including a hairdryer, a closet with hooks to hang clothes, several pieces of furniture to store them, television and heating.There is free wifi, the bathrooms are clean and the shower is heated. In fact, it allows you to choose how hot you want the water.However, I think the most notable thing is the kindness of the owner.It is in an area with a beautiful view. Quite recommended.

Such a welcoming place to stay. The host, I believe her name is Fiona, was so sweet and lovely to chat with in the mornings. She prepared absolutely beautiful breakfasts for us. The isle of Skye is so beautiful and so are the kind people on the island.

Really lovely, only has 3 rooms, you can hear next room but it is managable and everyone was very respectful at night in keeping quiet definitely not loud to keep you up all night (you cant hear footsteps or whispering or soft speaking but you can hear a bit of snoring if it is loud) the view is amazing and the place is well kept and clean. Great breakfast selection and Fiona was lovely to me! I really enjoyed my stay here!

A beautiful and convenient location, but would not recommend overall due to poor communication and hosting. To summarise:Pros- A scenic and gorgeous setting- Excellent location situated close to mainland Scotland and a close drive to the rest of Skye- There are lots of good restaurants and gorgeous nature nearbyCons- There was room for improvement in the hosting. Specific examples include:a. We had to ask for a stained towel to be replaced. The towel had around 3 large 5cm in diameter stains which looked like blood stainsb. We asked for a bottle opener, which was not available so we had to procure one ourselvesc. We asked for an extra toilet roll, in addition to the 2 provided originally over 4 nights, but this was not provided until the morning of check out- The communication was poor, and the host (Fiona) behaved unprofessionally on some occasions. Specific examples include:a. Even though the host mentioned that she was always available to take calls and the response times on the listing were advertised as within 1 hour, I called her 3 times during my stay and she did not respond until several hours later or the next day when I saw her in person. 1 out of 3 requests was ignored all togetherb. The host was very reluctant to give restaurant recommendationsc. The host and I interacted on a daily basis, and the impression I got from our interaction was very positive. I was dismayed and shocked to find out that Fiona described me as 'pushy' in public review which contained very little information, having NEVER raised any issues with me or my parter directly during our entire stay. I felt this was very unprofessional and was particularly upsetting to me because it had ruined my experience and made Fiona, who I thought I got to know and had a wonderful opinion of, seemed very insincere and disingenuous.ConclusionThe rooms were small and amenities basic, but met our overall needs. The price was on the high end for what it was, but this seemed in line with the market during peak holiday season in August.I won't visit Winklebeech as I originally intended because of the poor communication and unprofessional behaviour which I experienced from the host. I would avoid.

The scenery outside our window was beautiful. The room was clean and had the basic amenities you'll need. The breakfast was good as well. The only downside was, the walls in between the rooms are thin so you can actually hear the other person in the other room🤫

Fiona was lovely and very welcoming! The rooms were very clean and at a great price, and the continental breakfast was a great touch!

Fiona and her daughter Freya made us feel very welcomed and at home. Smallish but lovely room with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was delightful and the coffee was the best I had in the UK. We cannot wait to return.
