Arrived after a long drive from Scotland and was welcomed by Christine, who gave me all the information on the place and the area. The room was extremely comfortable and as I was leaving very early in the morning I was shown where all the breakfast was in the kitchen. A really nice feel to Mallard Cottage and recommended…… Thank You Christine. Jim

It's just a wonderful place. Spent a night in August with family because of a problem on the road on the way to the Eurotunnel. The place was quiet and clean, and the beds were comfortable. We didn’t get breakfast because we were in a rush, but we saw the guy who ordered hiding behind a forest of practically everything. We had never seen a breakfast table so full of choice.Note that although dogs seem to be welcome, there was one belonging to the guy who had breakfast; the place is organized in a way that the pet won’t disturb you because it is somewhere else in the building; in fact, we saw the dog on arrival but that it was, no herd, no smell or else. The place is a helpful stop to rest if you travel to and from France; there is also a lake that you can reach by walking, and the site has a free private car park. There is a typical pub nearby, but no noise arrived (the place is tranquil); it is good to know that it is possible to drink and walk home.

After spending a very hard day working I arrived to a beaming smile from Christina. My two dogs were welcomed in the same manner. Very clean, comfortable room. Highly recommended breakfasts set me up for the day. …

The hostess was welcoming, but the room was not. We booked a double, but the size barely justified a single. The bed was jammed against the radiator and in order to move around the room one of us had to sit in the bed out of the way.  …

I’ve never ever stayed in such a cold, uncomfortable room, we arrived to a lady in her dressing gown who showed us to our room, we’re not told that any breakfast was available, nor did we get told there was any WiFi, no bedside light, you …

Very much enjoyed my stay at Christina's place. Beautiful surroundings, nice clean room and bathroom, with complimentary tea and toiletries. For a small additional charge she was able to provide breakfast and home cooked dinners, which was an excellent bonus. Highly recommended :)
