Fabulous location, free onsite parking and fantastically clean. Staff were very helpful and polite. Our room (8) was very quiet and a good size bathroom. The mattresses in our opinion could do with replacing. The continental breakfast was adequate at best. There was a great selection of cereals but most of the fruit was tinned and the selection of cheese (2) and cold meats were average 'catering' quality as were the tea bags and coffee. A slight upgrade to the quality of the breakfast ingredients would hugely improve the experience. Best features were its location, the car park and the cleanliness of the property plus the welcoming staff.

I booked a room for my mother and her partner after my cousin had a very good experience years ago. I wish I had read the reviews talking about housemaids stealing stuff. My mother found the door of their bedroom open and a banknote missing from the wallet that she had left inside the baggage. When we told the reception we were accused of lying and we even got a little revenge from the housemaid who did not make the room at all. The place is decent enough but don't leave valuables because you might never see them again. We personally don't recommend this place if you want to enjoy your time without trouble.

It's a great place to stay. We had a large, clean, comfy room with a huge bed (No 8). We enjoyed an extensive continental breakfast. The staff were all very friendly. It was a short walk to all shops and sights. Would definitely stay here again.

Generally quite a disappointing stay. I will start with the good; the location and building are very nice however that is where the positives end. The furnishings and facilities are pretty tired, there seems to be a lack of real effort from the owners to provide a really nice stay for their guests and this has definitely filtered down to the staff as well. There is a distinct lack of warmth from the staff currently employed with no attempt or effort from them to make us feel welcomed at any part of our stay. The hairdryer provided in our room did not work in any of the plug sockets unless it was held or wedged in with another object / person. The attitude of the reception staff when I requested another hair dryer was quite frankly appalling. The staff were incredibly accusatory and more fixated on proving a point that the hair dryer was functional after they tested it. I went to back to my room after being told to try it again for it not to work again in our room. I then went back to the reception to let them know it still wasn't working. The girl on reception then left the desk and I could audibly register someone else saying 'what is he complaining for it is working'. Needless to say the hair dryer did not work in our room, maybe an issue with the plug sockets but absolutely disgusting attitude from the staff. This could be a really nice place to stay but the owners need to listen to other reviews that echo what I am saying and invest into some modernisation.

Our room was lovely and comfortable (overlooking the roundabout & garden). Continental breakfast had so many options. There location is perfect for new visitors - easy to get to, onsite parking - and most of all, you are just a few minutes of walking from the city centre and it's shopping, attractions, museums, etc. Couldn't have chosen better a better place to stay in Canterbury

I would call this an over priced bed and breakfast not a hotel. Plus = free parking and easy walking into city. We were in a large family room which was light but the hotel is on a busy roundabout so noisy with the window open. …

On the plus side the beds were comfy in the family room and the hotel itself is in a good location. However we did find faults with the room, the bathroom was not clean and the dripping tap kept us awake at night. …
