On arrival around 3.30pm 05/10/24, there was obviously a shortage of staff, your payment online system did not work correctly and you had no way of paying by card, very disorganised. However, your staff member Hayley was extremely apologetic, helpful and polite putting us at ease. The room was pleasant at a glance. Our family (7 in total) joined us for dinner @7pm, there were not enough staff, you had no ales available, service was slow. When we went to bed, I opened the window and noticed the curtains were ripped and the window had mould. There were cobwebs all around over the ceiling. Upon getting into bed, we saw the quilt cover was dirty and heavily stained, your housekeepers definitely saw it when they made the room up, there was no way they could have missed it!!!! We included breakfast, which was just as disappointing. The sausage was anaemic, and disgusting cheap nasty catering rubbish. The bacon was transparent, the black pudding was thinner than a two pence piece. The fried egg white was rubbery and crispy on the edges. The yolk was rock hard and the tomato was raw and cold. The mushroom was overcooked and rubbery. Nothing was seasoned!! I did tell Hayley the Chef was lazy to have sent this out to any customer, the chef has no pride with the quality and standards of the food they are producing. I have detailed photos of all the above which I will gladly share with you. Your only saving grace was Haley and the lady at dinner (she wore a cream jumper) who appeared to be supervising. I work in Hospitality (43 years) and I know how hard it is but basics were not met during our stay.
