The hotel is tucked away, a bit difficult to find at first. A nice welcome when we arrived from a lovely South African lady on reception. She even loaned me two USB plugs (I just expected sockets in the rooms). …

Lovely building in a beautiful setting but it’s absolutely the staff that make it! Big shout out to Chris and Caitlin who looked after us so well in the bar and restaurant - service with a smile, compassion and excellent banter! …

We spent 3 days at this hotel and loved it. The staff were all very friendly and made us feel at home. The rooms and hotel in general were very clean. Although some parts of the hotel were a little dated this was made up by the great atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable and we had a great view down the valley. All was very clean, there was plenty of hot water and the bed super comfortable. There were several events during our stay and these didn't bother us at all. In fact they added to the ambience. Lovely garden/patio where we enjoyed sitting out until dark with a beer each night.Lovely English breakfast buffet each morning served in the dining room. Well recommended!

Hotel set in the country down narrow roads. Location was hard to find due to local roadworks and diversions!![Not hotel's fault} Our opinion was that the hotel looked tired and needed upgrading. …

A beautiful hotel with stunning views of the countryside. A patio outside the bar was the perfect place to sit and admire the views.Friendly and helpful staff, they all seem happy to work there :)We stayed here for a wedding and were impressed with the organisation, patience and skill of all the staff involved.

Lovely hotel with great views. Arrived quite late but the receptionist was very welcoming and had our room key ready. Chris working at the bar allowed us a quick drink before he closed up which we appreciated, after having a very long day. Lovely room and comfy bed, breakfast in the morning was sufficient.

A nice place, nice rooms, but hard to get to as roads in the village more or less allow one car to get through so there's lots of shunting, reversing, waiting and negotiating who's going to go first when there's room for two cars to squeeze past each other. You can't go for a walk, roads are steep, narrow, you cold get hit by a car, so all there is to do is go to the bar and drink, but how much can one drink? Drinks and food are pricey too. Can't go to Bath as driving out of the village and back is a nightmare. So, best to stay in Bath where you can walk to everything.Room 3 was quite good, but bathroom is dated with a shower in the bath. Breakfast was OK, coffee is awful, filter coffee and weak. Restaurant menu is limited. Also, lady at check in was rude; name... you give your name, phone number.... you give your phone number, email.... you give your email, no hello, no welcome, no enjoy your stay, no smile, here is the key, lift is down there or you can take the stairs... so you take the key and go to your room. There will be no next time. If you're going to Bath, stay in Bath near the city centre and close to everything.

Was very disappointed had to ask several times for heating to be put on as room was cold. There was a wedding on and everyone in the bar so nowhere to sit so told we could sit in another room which was crammed with sofas and it was very cold no heating on no one else in room no music so spent the evening sitting in our hotel room. Room was nice and clean but didn't really want to sit in it all night . Definitely would not stay there again.
