Face Masks Are No Longer Mandatory at Disney World and Disneyland Starting February 17

Masks will again be optional for guests at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
From February 17, 2022, Disney World in Central Florida and Disneyland in California will not mandate masks for 'fully vaccinated guests in all outdoor and indoor areas.' Disney's website adds that 'we expect unvaccinated guests to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor spaces, including attractions and theaters.'
It's worth mentioning that California's statewide indoor mask mandate ended today.
Similar to last summer, when mask requirements were first lifted on May 15, 2021, before the delta variant led to reinstated rules on July 31, 2021, there will be no verification process for vaccinated versus unvaccinated guests.
Masks remain mandatory for all guests aged 2 and older on enclosed Disney transportation, such as buses, monorails, and the Disney Skyliner. Additionally, Disneyland requires masks in its first aid facilities.
This update arrives just days ahead of the highly anticipated launch of the Galactic Starcruiser experience, also known as the Star Wars Hotel, set to begin on March 1. It also precedes the eligibility of children under 5 for COVID-19 vaccination.
Recently, Universal Orlando has also lifted its mask mandate; however, face coverings remain necessary at Universal Studios Hollywood due to the local pandemic regulations in Los Angeles County.

Disney parks are joining a growing number of tourist destinations — including Las Vegas — that are easing pandemic restrictions, such as mandatory face masks, as the omicron wave recedes.
