Get an exclusive glimpse of the upcoming Six Senses Grand Bahama.

The luxurious expansion by IHG Hotels & Resorts in the Western Hemisphere is underway in the Bahamas, and you can see an early preview here.
Although Six Senses Grand Bahama won't open until 2026, exciting new details have been released to spark anticipation for future visitors. The project, costing over $250 million, will feature 70 resort villas, 28 branded residences, a wellness center, a signature Six Senses Spa, and various dining options. Weller Development Partners and Pegasus Capital Advisors are behind the development.
"The master plan for Six Senses Grand Bahama reflects our dedication to fostering a vibrant community that operates year-round. The canals and waterways create a unique atmosphere akin to a front porch," said Six Senses CEO Neil Jacobs in a statement. "By thoughtfully integrating well-designed structures within the stunning natural landscape, we create an environment for guests to either connect or unwind, explore or retreat, and enjoy a leisurely lunch that seamlessly transitions into dinner, while accessing a wide range of curated experiences and wellness options. Our sustainability and resilience strategies ensure the plan's longevity for many years ahead."

Recognized for their exceptional health and wellness experiences and locally sourced ingredients, Six Senses properties are set to impress with seafood culinary delights from the future kitchens of Six Senses Grand Bahama. In addition to exquisite dining and pampering spa services, guests can look forward to event venues, a beach club, and an oceanfront pool, all offering breathtaking views of the ocean and canals.
Designed by Gensler, this 50-acre resort aims to seamlessly integrate with its natural surroundings, avoiding towering hotel structures. Instead, villas will harmonize with palm trees and the sandy coast, while the entire property pays homage to Grand Bahamian culture and the island’s Lucayan heritage.

"We have brought together a top-tier design team, with Olson Kundig responsible for the residences and Gensler for the resort," stated Marc Weller, founding partner and president of Weller Development Partners. "The architectural vision and master plan embody the core principles of our collaboration with Six Senses, emphasizing wellness, sustainable design, and a bond with nature and the local community. We believe Six Senses Grand Bahama can redefine sustainable living and ecotourism in The Bahamas and the Caribbean through its innovative design, operations, and programming."
Although Six Senses enjoys significant brand recognition in the U.S., it currently lacks a substantial physical presence in the Americas—at least for now.

Earlier this year, Six Senses La Sagesse debuted in Grenada, and development is underway for Six Senses Xala along Mexico's Pacific coast. Recently announced is Six Senses Telluride in Colorado, alongside plans for additional properties in the Napa region of California and a chain of islands in South Carolina.
This represents just a portion of IHG's broader luxury expansion worldwide, which also includes the upcoming launch of the Regent brand in the U.S. with Regent Santa Monica Beach.
Construction for Six Senses Grand Bahama is set to commence later this year.
