Let It Snow: These Ski Resorts Remain Open for Memorial Day Weekend
Editor's note: This article has been updated with the most current information.
Memorial Day is typically seen as the unofficial kickoff to summer, when tan lines take precedence over lift lines and lawnmowers replace snowblowers.
Yet, for winter sports enthusiasts, there are still a few ski resorts keeping their lifts operational through Memorial Day weekend. The amenities and terrain available this late in the spring tend to be more limited (and often geared towards advanced skiers) compared to the peak season offerings.
If you’re alright with that and would rather enjoy one last snow day than switch to poolside lounging, this list is just for you.
Arapahoe Basin
A-Basin has a rich tradition of ski seasons extending into June, and this year is no different.
Currently, tickets are on sale until June 5, with several inches of fresh snow anticipated this weekend. Lift tickets must be bought in advance, starting at $58, with weekend prices nearing $100.

Crystal Mountain is the largest ski area in Washington State, and it will keep the lifts running on weekends through Memorial Day weekend.
The mountain plans to operate the Rainier Express, Green Valley, and the gondola, accepting all 2021-2022 season passes or offering single-day tickets for $69 each.
Mammoth Mountain
Mammoth, located in eastern California, is renowned for its summertime skiing opportunities. Currently, tickets are available until June 5, with Memorial Day weekend prices ranging from $107 to $125.
Ikon Pass members can also enjoy spring skiing here at no extra charge by presenting their pass.
If you're searching for a nearby hotel that can be booked with points, the Westin Monache Resort in Mammoth is available in the upcoming weeks, with rates ranging from 50,000 to 66,000 Marriott points per night.

Mt. Bachelor
In Oregon, Mt. Bachelor plans to operate until May 29, with spring hours running from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Single-day lift tickets are priced at $92 each.
Timberline
Perched on Mt. Hood at over 11,000 feet in Oregon, Timberline boasts one of the longest ski seasons in the country, currently featuring a 169-inch base with fresh snow still falling. Spring tickets are available for $99, and lifts are expected to operate at least through Memorial Day.
Killington
Killington, located in Vermont, remains the Northeast's sole option for a few final runs. While only one lift and three trails are open, skiing is scheduled to continue through Memorial Day. Single-day tickets for the holiday weekend will range from $55 to $75.
