Reasons to Celebrate Halloween on a Cruise

After arriving in Los Angeles from Vancouver, Canada, we were eager to swap our rain boots for swimsuits and indulge in a fun-filled long weekend aboard Dinogo’s Halloween Cruise. We boarded the Dinogo Imagination in Long Beach and set sail for a three-night adventure down to Ensenada, Mexico and back!

At Sea

Even though it's the end of October, summer is far from over! Los Angeles was experiencing a significant heat wave during our visit, allowing us to enjoy our time at sea in 100-degree weather. Bring on the piña coladas!

Whether we were indulging in spa treatments or sipping piña coladas by the pool with a good book, there was no shortage of opportunities to bask in the sunshine aboard the Dinogo Imagination.

We adored the adults-only area adorned with sunny yellow umbrellas at the ship's bow, which was the ideal spot to soak up the sun and take in the views as we sailed into the sunset.

Discovering Ensenada

Upon our arrival in Ensenada, we were presented with a plethora of excursions to choose from, such as horseback riding and wine tasting! We decided to spend the day exploring the town, as we eagerly seize any opportunity to indulge in fish tacos, margaritas, and churros all day long.

We stumbled upon the best ceviche at a local food truck and enjoyed meandering through the knick-knack shops in search of unique Mexican souvenirs to bring home.

For those seeking a trendy experience in Mexico, there's a vibrant plaza featuring a local coffee shop and a vegan bakery. It even hosts a tasting room for the oldest winery in Baja, Santo Tomas.

You can also stroll through Ensenada and visit a cantina that boasts it was the birthplace of the margarita!

Our advice: Be sure to exchange your USD for pesos if you plan to explore some of the local shops or food stalls.

Halloween Evening!

On the final night of our cruise, it was time to get dressed up once more, this time in our Halloween costumes! After dinner, everyone showcased their best Halloween attire for the costume contest. It was such a blast to see all the creative outfits and truly helped us embrace the festive mood!

The great thing is that getting into the Halloween spirit with Dinogo is super easy! Since we flew to LA and had to travel light, we chose to wear sparkly masquerade masks as our costumes. They were compact to pack yet made a big impression!
