We had a emergency one night stay because another hotel was so bad we didn't want to stay. Without asking, they send a golf cart to pick us up on the other side of the bay. We were greeted with a warm welcome, and the AC was already running in our room. The room itself was clean and well-prepared. Some small thing could be fixed, but that's all.Only downside is that it was a little expensive for our standards, but the service made this worth it.

Please note that you cannot access this resort unless by boat or able bodied and can hike through a steep walkway to access Tonsai Beach. Another note is that during May to September the resort shuts off the power during certain hours of the day. There are no ATMS in Tonsai and limited in food choices, but that’s the gorgeous price you pay for having a beach all to yourself! My partner and I walked here from RaiLay Beach through the Tonsai Beach Nature Trail (see google maps). It’s about 10 minutes of a walk that is steep and has a rope to help with the steepest parts. We did this walk with our travelling backpacks and flipflops in wet season although it wasn’t raining at the time, we found this walk to be quite easy for us but I can imagine harder for older folks, young children and anyone who may find hiking up a steep slope and then down a steep slope challenging. If you stay here, make sure that you visit the local shops behind the resort. They are very quiet but have incredible food. They were forced to move behind the wall in 2016 by a huge hotel franchise that built the wall and displaced the locals, and then abandoned their own plans to built a hotel. We have been to Mama Chicken and ate some of the best Thai food yet. Buy your water from these shops. The room is very simple. We had to move rooms on the first night because the aircon stopped working. The beds are old and a bit stinky, we had to ask to get our linen changed a few times. The rooms don’t have great views, again they’re very simple.Images are of the beach that is 250m from our door.A lot of people come here for the bouldering and rock climbing, we saw many on the route in along the wall. There is a rock climbing shop here where you can go twice a day with a guide and they provide all the equipment.Highly recommend taking a walk around the back of the resort to find the local shops.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Superb value & amazing location! We loved Tonsai Beach, away from crowds of Railey (only 2 hotels on tonsai) but accessible via fun jungle path accessible low tide. Hotel is clean and staff lovely. We had room with lovely views sea, islands and Rock.( Room 2006 in main building) there are bungalows further back but some seem to be getting renovated)Tonsai Beach is famous climbing 🧗 spot & so has serious climbers dotted around and spot where people gather. Our teens climbed over at railey as beginners.Restaurant tasty food and 🍕 at good prices but the supermarket next to climbing shop was really expensive eg aloe Vera after sun 380 baht when 150 in railey!Generator in daytime is off so no air con for few hours but they let you know at booking and we are happy with this, as supports environment. (Couple previous reviews raise this)

We have stayed here on and off for at least 20 years. It has gone more upmarket over the years and expanded substantially. A good place for a quiet getaway from the chaos of places like Phuket. My wife is a keen rock climber and there are plenty of choices of challenging climbs, and local guides to make sure you are in safe hands.

First of all when getting off the boat |no directions to the hotel or sign. The hotel have a breakage policy and tried to charge me for a full set of bedding for three spots of blood on the pillow cases and sheets. …
