Yes I know this is a Hilltop but even after the stairs which are fine - it's abit of a trek to the rooms. I would recommend staying somewhere more convenient in all honesty. We followed Google map and got soooo lost - reception and where to Check In needs to clearly be put on the Hotel info as its really confusing 😕 it's on the waterfront near a massage and tour office but then the steps is still way further on 😅 more of a trek than we had planned. The room says it comes with kettle and yet there isn't one. Rather disappointed overall as had better expectations.

Mega hotel, especially the manager is so friendly. Had a good night there and the view is amazing. Recommend and will come back 🙏🏽👌🏾

Quirky rooms with a downstairs toilet/shower. Beautiful views of the mountain from our window and beautiful views of the horizon from our balcony. Very quiet and cozy. Comfortable bed with air con and a fan. Has the biggest stair case of all the hilltop residences, good exercise but not suitable for all and was quite gruelling with all luggage after a day of travelling in the rain!

A little confusing to find at first, don't follow google maps. Walk along the beach. Check in is at the kiosk shown in the photoYou have to walk up a steep set if steps. They do have a pull-ie system for heavy bags.Went with a standard double. Very basic. But ok for 1 night. Kept getting woken up from people in the room above.Wouldn't stay here any longer than a couple nights

Absolute scam! They took my money then sold my room to someone else then said they didn’t have any more rooms. The person was incredibly rude and after I sent 3 people they finally backed down. Absolute thiefs! Avoid like the plague

The best part is the view, the room was clean, a decent size and the price was good for Railay Beach.The staff was also helpful, a pool is also available it's just not mentioned in the ad as it is part of a different hotel.Now get ready for stairs, lots of stairs, to get to your room. you can see them in the pictures.If you don't like stairs stay away.

Made a booking and it looked like I could go here by taxi. Unfortunately, this was not indicated anywhere through booking. Explained the situation because I had really booked half a day in advance and can only stay for 1 day and cannot be dependent on a boat. They were very incomprehensible and now have to pay for costs. Too bad it had to turn out this way, I had hoped it would be different.

the staff was so nice, the room was very comfortable with great aircon, and the view is great!! just a hike to get to obviously. also the free water was a bonus!my only recommendation is to add more signs of where to go for the reception! figured it out eventually after wandering for a while but could be nice to add signs as it was a long walk back and got confusing.

Great spot for the price! Warning: You do have to climb stairs to get there but if you're in relatively ok shape, you'll be fine. The Google Map directions aren't accurate as well - instead, look up "last bar" and you'll find the stairs to the Railway Hilltop from there. The staff was friendly and the beds were comfy! Definitely not luxurious - but worked for us for one night. They even let us check in early, thank you for having us!

AVOID!-if you're injured, sick, tired, or forgetful, the stairs will kill you-far away from everything-trash everywhere-barely any infrastructure upstairs(not even paved)-no lobby or reception, no staff around (check-in is at a random booth downstairs, though they help you with your luggage)-bathrooms leak, not clean and badly maintained, sometimes no water and everything gets wet when showering-generally cracks everywhere- no cleaning in between, you even have to call in for new toilet paper-doors and windows don't lock properly-the pool area is loud and busy at night-sound insulation is terrible, I could hear every step of the room above me-views are not worth it-table on the patio but no chairs to lie down, which would be nicer

I really enjoyed staying at this place. To get there you climb a long staircase but it cost more with luggage (and there is a luggage transport, which we stupidly decided not to use). Very large room with large windows, the view is very beautiful and we can even see monkeys in the trees. Close to restaurants, shops and beaches. We really enjoyed staying on this island, very friendly! The room has towels, water, refrigerator and there is also a water dispenser at reception. The only drawback was that there were cockroaches in the bathroom. We kept the bathroom door closed and when we were away from the hotel for many hours, cockroaches would occasionally appear there. That's the only reason I don't give this site full marks. Ps: to find the hotel I recommend: putting "last bar" on Googlemaps and following until you see a long staircase in colors. Climb those stairs and continue climbing (you first pass another accommodation that has a swimming pool, but as it's all outdoors and it's not even identified, you can't even tell. It's less tiring to go up there. The reception is the photo that the hotel presents like the terrace)

Staff were very unkind even inhumane to my daughter who was passed out on the floor in the lobby with heat exhaustion. They walked passed her and laughed at her condition , no one helped at all. When she slightly recovered they continued to be unavailable to help. When she was trying to checkout the next day (earlier than planned due to the way she was treated) there was no one at reception and she had to walk around the whole property looking for staff, just so she could check out. No one asked her why she was leaving early.

I do not recommend. The location is poor, to get to the hotel you have to climb a really steep hill. This can of course be forgiven, because the name itself obliges. However, the worst part is the room itself. The room is not airtight, there are lizards and mosquitoes flying around the room. In the bathroom there was a cockroach, an anthill and a terrible smell of sewage. Even though this fact was reported, nothing was done about it.

A lovely hill top place. Our accommodation was good, clean and had great views over Railay. Main bit of advice I'd give for other travellers is do not use Google maps to get there as it will take you the wrong way which is a pain with your luggage. Search for "The last bar" and the access steps to go up are next to that bar. Enjoy.
