2021.02.21600 yenPlenty of parkingAnyway, the hot water is extremely good. Tasteless, colorless, odorless, and of course, sourced directly from the source. Although the quantity is not large, the freshness and quality are outstanding, perhaps because there are few customers. The quality is hard to believe that it is run by a town.Normally, when a government office comes into contact with people, they are often sterilized in the name of hygiene control. The building of an abandoned elementary school is very atmospheric, but the bathroom looks like an ordinary hotel. I don't like it when the window is closed, but if I force it to rattle, it opens about 10cm. There are no open-air baths or saunas.2021.07.10 revisited. This time we stayed for 6090 yen.It is unacceptable that the baths are closed at 10pm.The pool is usually covered in disinfectant so there is no need for it.

How many times have you traveled around the Izu Peninsula? I've been underwater more times than I can count.I didn't notice it until now. The mountains of the Izu Peninsula are amazing.Once you get used to traveling around Izu, you will find hotels and inns to be boring.Unless you're a spoiled general, you can do it yourself to some extent. No need for extra services.I want to feel time flowing more naturally.I want to feel that nostalgic feeling that I had forgotten until now.As you go up the national highway along the Nishina River in Nishiizu Town toward the mountains, you will see a clear stream on the left and an old bridge with a sense of history. The scenery gradually spreads out as if time has stood still for many years.A cool air begins to flow through the tall cedar forest, and the voices of the Japanese cypress echo.It is said that a mining village was built deep in the mountains, and a wooden elementary school was built in the 40th year of the Meiji era.The school was closed in 1971 and opened as Yamabiko-so in 1977.It underwent major renovations in April 2011 and resumed operation as a village-run youth lodging facility. The tatami mats are new, air conditioners are installed in all rooms, and everything is sparkling clean. An accommodation facility that combines the vestiges of its historic past with brand-new facilities. It gives you a strange sense of incongruity, as if you could open a sliding door and find a system kitchen in a tea room with the ultimate wabi-sabi style. Each room is a former classroom divided in half to create a guest room, so it's very spacious. Moreover, it is very cheap at around 4,500 yen per adult (meals are not included)There is no room charge system, so if a room is available, one person can stay in one room at no additional charge. (I think it's too big and scary)In some places in the school building and schoolyard, you can see stone gates and stone walls that give you a sense of the flow of history from the Meiji period to the Taisho era to the Pacific War.When the school first opened, it was common for schoolchildren to wear long-sleeved kimono. When I come here, it feels like I've been here a long time ago. That's how I feel.An old scene comes to mind.People at that time lived by the banks of clear rivers. It's the kind of place that makes you want to believe in the existence of the forest god.*If you found this article helpful, I would appreciate it if you could click the "Like" button. <(_ _)>

Visited 2024/7. Bathing fee 600 yen + pool use 400 yen. The pool is also a natural hot spring, and the water temperature at this time was 35 degrees. I think the temperature is perfect for an open-air bath in the summer, but it felt a little hot when I thought it was a pool.

Accommodation for 1 person with dinner and breakfast by car on June 4thShizuoka - Shimizu Port - Toi Port - Matsuzaki - YamabikosoSuper Aoki and Welcia Pharmacy are on the right side of the Nishina River traffic light in front of Matsuzaki city.Turn left at the traffic light and follow the road along the Nishina River heading towards the mountain. There are several narrow roads along the way that are only one lane wide, but Yamabikoso. Turn right at the sign and reach the end of the slope? Turn left at the fire warehouse next to it and go up the slope to arrive at Yamabiko-so.At first glance, the building is made of wood and looks like it might make some creaking noises, but once you get inside, you'll find that it's quite a sturdy and earthquake-reinforced building. As a whole, traces of the school building remain, giving a sense of nostalgia.I was the only guest staying that day, and I was surprised to find that the entrance, hallway, room, toilet, bath, changing room, washroom, lunch room, changing room, pool, etc. were well-cleaned and there wasn't a single piece of trash. The room was spacious with high ceilings, and I was impressed by how the entrance sliding door, interior sliding door, and windows closed tightly without any rattling or gaps. The bathroom has natural hot spring water (about 38-39 degrees Celsius), but it's a shame that it's small and only about 4 people can fit in. The shower and sink in the washing area have poor water pressure and the temperature doesn't get hot. Since it is a club, there is no open-air bath, but the 25m x 5-course outdoor pool is a hot spring pool with natural hot spring water, so this is a special feature. In the small pond to the right of the entrance to the school building, at this time of year, you can see the Moria tree frog, a natural monument of the prefecture, laying eggs in several places that look like white bubbles on the leaves, and the small tadpoles and large tadpoles that were born there are swimming around. did.At night, I was surprised to see several fireflies flying from the nearby river while glowing. The meals were simple and not luxurious, but I am grateful that he went out of his way to cook dinner and breakfast for me alone. It seems like you can have a BBQ in the schoolyard, so it might be fun to bring your own ingredients on a family trip.Price includes 1 night, 2 meals and bathing tax.6,570 yen
