This is an amazing place with so much history. It is around 300 years old, but has Wi-Fi and air conditioning. The food was great, but you must book beforehand. The staff were friendly, everywhere was clean and well maintained. …

Would not stay here again. Room was ok except... It was right next to the dinner room and 2 hours prior and 1 hour after dinner the workers sat and talked (loudly) so not peaceful at all. Same thing happened for breakfast. No hand towels at sinks. No instructions on procedures. Door didn't lock. Hall to bathrooms had a direct view into our sitting room. And the light from our room allowed people to see us changing. No place to put anything for showers. Staff was not friendly. Dinner was served and then everyone was gone. No water served and no one to ask for some. No napkins were given for breakfast. Food just ok. It has a lot of potential if it was run better. Not easy to get too without a car.

It is quite an experience to be able to sleep here. The rooms are very well equipped and in tune with the atmosphere that is intended to be created: that of the old guest houses on the Nakasendo route. The staff is very friendly and both dinner and breakfast are abundant and delicious.

This inn has very basic accommodations. It is an authentic ryokan with tatami floors. The layout of the building is a bit confusing and it’s easy to get lost. You are given a futon to sleep on. There is a shared bathroom which I didn’t care for. The food is very good and the staff is friendly.

This place is so cute. The staff was very friendly and obviously cared a lot about making the experience wonderful. The rooms were great and the food was amazing! I don’t know if I’ve ever had so many different courses in one meal. I was so full by the end.The showers and baths were shared but very clean and nice. Water pressure was great.Additionally, there were very cute cats everywhere who were very friendly.
