The private open-air bath looked like a pond and I didn't feel like taking a bath. The salt-grilled sweetfish and tempura are delicious, but the rest of the seasoning is amateurish. Customer service was good. The pickled steak for breakfast is not delicious. The hoba miso was also the least delicious I've ever had. It is a mystery that the miso soup is thin and has good reviews. The nearby footbath was nice and quaint.

From the moment I arrived I was attended to on a personal level. The rooms were comfortable and the food was absolutely delicious! I enjoyed a private bath all to myself, too.

Quiet onsen town surrounded by the mountains and a flowing river, great value from this ryokan and the owners are so kind & the food was delicious especially the beef, sashimi, and side dishes. Would love to come again for the hospitality & private onsen :) I feel refreshed and reenergized after staying here. I booked direct through the hotel’s website and paid for the room at the ryokan.

The hotel is very clean. The service staff is very good and enthusiastic. There are public and private onsen bathing pools. We booked a half board meal (including dinner and breakfast the next morning). The meal was delicious. I highly recommend you guys come here.

Just wonderful. Great staff and service all around. We went during the off season (March) and were the only guests for one of the nights. Still, everything was available and sometime was ready to help at all times. The onsen are solid, very hot and nicely decorated. Not all were available due to the time of year. The ryokan offers snow boots and umbrellas to take during your stay. Very helpful for people surprised by the winter weather there.
