The food reminds me of a hot spring hotel from 20 years ago.

Even though the building has been renovated, it's still old.The rooms are fairly new, but are they small for the cheap plan? The floor of the hot spring is rough and painful. The quality of the spring water is excellent.Dinner was average. No complaints, but nothing to praise.Breakfast is also the same.

There is no WiFi in the room, and the edges of the tatami mats in the room are tattered. There are no hot springs or open-air baths, and the front desk and meal service are sloppy. Unfortunately I couldn't find a good place.

I used it recently. The guest room was a normal room and in good condition. Also, the bath and toilet were separate so there were no problems. However, when entering the bus, there were times when the hot water did not come out, and when I asked the staff at the inn, they told me that they had to leave the water on for about 10 minutes. It's a pity that I didn't write about this. Also, there is no hair dryer in the room, so when I told them that I would like to borrow one, I was told that there is a limited number. When I used it, I was lucky enough to be able to borrow it, but I thought it might be a little inconvenient because there are times when I can't. Originally it was stated on the homepage that there was no wifi, but in reality there were many parts where it would be difficult to do without it. Please be careful if you think Wi-Fi is required when staying. Regarding the service, when leaving the inn, we asked for a touch payment using Visa. I checked on the phone and on the website and asked if it could be used, but I was not able to use it. As a result of paying in cash, I was left with almost no money to spend on the rest of the trip, so I ended up returning home without being able to do anything. Please note that it is highly likely that you will not be able to use other touch payments. I also felt a little uncomfortable because I was forced to pay in cash even though there was a problem with the inn. The location is a little far from the hot spring town. There are convenience stores nearby, but if you want to buy souvenirs, there aren't many shops and you have to cross a bridge, so it felt far away.

The building itself is old and is what you would call an old-fashioned inn, but the hot water is excellent. The hot water is a little thick because it flows directly from the source. After getting out of the bath, your skin will feel warm and smooth. You can take a bath overnight, so I took it many times during my stay.Definitely recommended for people who are not particular about food or rooms and mainly enjoy hot springs.

Among Gero Onsen, the facilities are older and the prices are lower. I had stayed there about 30 years ago, but this time I stayed without meals on the last day of Obon, partly because the accommodation fee was cheap.I didn't know this, but this place has hot springs flowing directly from the source, and the baths in the rooms also have hot spring water. The hot water doesn't get hot until about 10 minutes as the hot spring water passes through the pipes, but you can enjoy the hot spring water in your room.Even within Gero Onsen, there are only 4 or 5 hotels that have their hot springs flowing directly from the source. It seems that there are more than 10 sources and they are collected and sorted. The hot water here is said to be of the simmering type. I have certainly been to several ryokans in Gero Onsen, and I think the hot springs are top-class, including the large ones.Although the facility is undeniably old, it is well maintained. Although there is no open-air bath, it is recommended for those who like hot springs.

As per the reviews on social media, the dinner had a large selection of items, and the staff were very responsive and I was very satisfied. The facilities, including the rooms, are undeniably old. There is no problem in terms of location for walking around Gero Onsen Village. There is also a convenience store nearby. However, the front door is locked at 10:30 pm, so you cannot go out, so smokers should be careful.
