Na Tanao 1969 is a beautifully designed accommodation located in Bangkok's Old Town. The building was designed by POAR.It was originally just a narrow driveway, which was the land left by the owner's grandmother. Later, it was leased to vendors to set up stalls for business. After several twists and turns, it turned into this exquisite small hotel. Before introducing this room type, let me explain how the owner emphasizes the concept of "HomeTel" (a combination of the words "Home" and "Hotel").He wanted to create a small accommodation where guests would feel like they were "staying at a friend's house" but still have a "feeling of home".Therefore, the four rooms in this hotel are named after the owner’s family. The largest of the two rooms on the fourth floor near the road is JITTA, named after my mother. KITTA comes from the name of his younger brother,There are also two rooms on the third floor. The largest room near the road, JIRA, comes from my father's name, and NAMA comes from the owner's nickname. This is the only room with a nickname. Because the name is very similar to my mother's real name. If used to name a room, it's the same thing. The two rooms named after the parents are larger as a sign of respect. What I want to share today is JIRA named after my father on the third floor.Let’s talk about the shortcomings first:The selling point of this room is that the bedroom has a huge glass area with a view of the street and a bathtub that is so huge that you can roll in it.While these two selling points are attractive, they also come with some drawbacks.1. First of all, if you stay in a bedroom near the road (JIRA OR JITTA), it is really noisy because it is right next to the main road, especially the morning market nearby is bustling with people early in the morning.Of course, although this room comes with free earplugs, if you really mind the noise, a room close to the road may not be a good choice. But when I checked into the MAMA on the other side, which is not on the road, I didn't hear anything and it was very quiet.2. In addition, a bathtub that is large enough to roll in is not very practical because the water volume is not very large, so it has to be filled with water for more than an hour. And although it has a shower head, there is no shower stand. You have to hold the shower head to take a shower. I think it is quite inconvenient for many people. However, this bathroom has no height difference, while the MAMA room type on the other side has a height difference.advantage:1. The location is excellent. There are many attractions within walking distance, such as the Big Swing, Jinshan Temple, etc. There are also many Michelin-starred street food and fashionable cafes nearby.2. The room is long and narrow but has enough space. In addition to the bedroom and bathroom, JIRA also has a small entrance hall, which is large and very comfortable. The bedroom is equipped with GOOGLE TV for use, the bathroom has a DYSON hair dryer, and the wireless network is also fast. The bed I don't like it on the soft side, but overall the hardware is pretty good.3. The public spaces are comfortable and clean. The public spaces here, including the balcony for booking the apartment and the lobby on the first floor, are very well designed and extremely clean. There are many shopkeepers’ collections in the lobby on the first floor that you can slowly explore. You can go up to the top floor in the evening to watch the sunset. At night, you can see the illuminated Jinshan Temple and the dense and brilliant pagodas. I like to look at the transparent small gym on the top floor of the house opposite and watch them seriously exercising in it. Then I eat fried chicken on the top floor.4. There is plenty of lighting in the room in the morning. The entire building space is very well designed. It uses many large areas of glass as walls. There are even some places where there are no boundaries or walls. You can reach out and touch the building next door. The exterior wall, the whole space is so open and really special. Therefore, in the morning, the sunlight can pour in from many places. If you are an online beauty, you should be able to take pictures.5. The owner is very hospitable. There are two ways to check in. If you check in before 18:00, you will be greeted by the owner and then changed to the CHECK-IN method. However, no matter which method you have, the owner will be there if you have any questions. The online booking platform can answer questions instantly. And after you check in, he will generously share the nearby places to eat, drink and play on the GOOGLE MAP, which is really convenient. He will also tell you some secret attractions.I think if you are tired of staying in international chain hotels when you go to Bangkok, it is better to stay in a relatively small but exquisite hotel in the old town. It is closer to the daily feel of Bangkok.
