We were a little worried because it was a very long-established store (lol), but we were very satisfied. Wonderful scenery, changing colors of the sky, Mt. Fuji, delicious room meals, and beautiful futons. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable for the three of us, although we can't deny that it's from our hometown. However, the bath is also very old-fashioned. For those who want to fully enjoy hot springs, we recommend going somewhere else.Since it's located in Enoshima, I was able to leave my luggage there and go out. Thank you very much.

I used it as a base for my trip from Enoshima to Kamakura for 3 days and 2 nights (dinner included) starting on Friday. It was an old-fashioned inn that brought back memories of visiting my father's hometown for Obon and New Year holidays when I was a child. This inn may not be suitable for people who are accustomed to modern life, such as wooden floors, cloth walls, unit baths, washbasins with showers, excessive sense of hygiene, and sound insulation, but personally, I don't like it at all. I enjoyed it as a slightly inconvenient and extraordinary experience within an acceptable range. Also, I only ordered dinner, but I thought it would be a little sweet, but tastes vary widely. The food was served at the right temperature and had a large selection, and I personally enjoyed it while feeling full. There are two types of baths, a Roman bath and a cave bath, and even though I don't like hot baths, I was able to soak in them and heal the fatigue of the day.

The best Ryokan where we have ever stayed. It has a long history and it was felt when we stayed there. They did not modernise, but they keep things neat, clean, and traditional in the best way possible.Staff did their best to accommodate communication in English and that was admirable. The only moments when we felt very lost was during Izakaya dinners. It was definitely an adventure as we saw many things for the first time and had no clue what we were eating. We took half board option with dinners and did not regret. The food was fresh, exquisite, and beautifully made. I don’t say that I liked every single thing, no, but I enjoyed the chance to taste traditional Japanese food and gave all dishes a try.We stayed in a room with an ocean view and we got to see Mt Fuji on our first night in Japan. Needless to say, that was the first and last time we saw it, so that was an absolutely extra to our stay. It was spacious, impeccably clean, had a tea making set and cookies waiting for us.Onsens here are a separate thing to mention. The place has 2 private onsens and both are stunning in their own way. One is located in a cave. It’s big, spacious and has a shrine (surreal)… another was inspired but Roman baths and has beautiful stained glass compositions with peacocks. It is smaller, but is full of light. Both are clean and pleasant to use. Men and women change onsens twice a day so you get a chance to enjoy both.To me, this place felt like most authentic out of 3 we have been to, it left a very warm and cosy feeling. Dear Iwamotoro staff, thank you very much. We will be back next time we visit Japan.

More than 30 years ago, every New Year's visit was held by a group on a bus. The course was decided, and after making a first visit to Doryoson, we would move to Enoshima, have lunch and rest at Iwamotoro, and then return home.Even when I went to Iwamotoro, I was working as an administrator, so I never took a walk around the building during my breaks, and I never took a dip in the famous cave baths or Roman baths. It's a waste, but. When I visited Enoshima alone a few years ago, I stopped by Iwamotoro, which had fond memories of me.I didn't take a bath, but I drank coffee at the cafe on the first floor and went home. For me, it is still a place with fond memories.
