The accommodations were very nice. Beds were comfortable and onsen as well. Only downside are the shared bathrooms but I think that adds some charm to the inn. Owner is very accommodating and friendly (I would ignore the negative opinions seen in other comments) although communicating in English could be tricky.

Traveling all the way to this inn with an infant is already difficult. The owner of the inn didn’t even let us check in due to the baby. He only wanted to refund partial payment.

My daughter and I stayed in this small and cozy Inn for only one night and we really enjoyed the experience. Reading all the old comments my daughter was worried about the owner's attitude but it turned out that he is one of the best person we encountered in Japan. Mr. Wai Sun doesn't speak perfect English but he tried his best to communicate with us. He gave us a lot of valuable suggestions for sightseeing, from which bus to take to the entire day planning. The entire Inn is super clean and comfortable. The only downside is that we heard some noise from neighbours at night but that didn't really bother us.

It's okay to say goodbye, and it's not right!マスタ様は本当に優しかったですー️温泉が箱根のなかにある天然温泉2か所のうちの1か所です。とてもいいから、ぜひ!(GWに行って来ました)And haha, you can speak simple Korean. I had a great chat with the boss. If you can speak a little Japanese, you will be able to have a fun conversation. The room had recently been laid with new tatami mats, so it smelled really good. There are only two natural hot springs in the area, and this is one of them. Be sure to go! The price is reasonable too.

Although many may consider this man's attitude as aggressive or rude, there's definitely some misinterpretation/language barrier difficulties at play here. My original impression also followed a negative outlook until I met the man in person - emotions can definitely be hard to read until seeing and interacting with him in person. We ended up having a last-minute change of events, but the host was willing to be accommodating and willing to make an exception despite evidently showing some resistance at first. I am beyond thankful for him doing so and going above and beyond when he had every right to not do so.We stayed only for one night, but he was more than willing to try to help us think about what to do as well has had general recommendations for the area as well as the other cities we were visiting in Japan. All of them were helpful as well, which was a plus!Rooms were very nice overall as well as clean and provided the true ryokan experience (provided robes, nice small onsen, good service, slippers, tatami mats). Everything was overall fantastic and I couldn't have asked for a more genuine, low-key ryokan and onsen experience. As long as you respect the man and his rules, you'll have a great experience.

Very atypical experience, pleasant service and a warm welcome with a manager who offers good advice. Very well located and convenient establishment for visiting the Hakone region. I highly recommend to all travelers!

The hotel is clean and comfortable. I like it. I will consider staying there again. The boss is kind and talkative and shares a lot of things. The boss can speak some English, which is much better than the English spoken in many small B&Bs.If you know a little Japanese, you can talk to your boss and he will be more than happy to teach you.He will tell you what to do and how to take a ride. The dining area and public bathhouse are on the first floor, where you can take a comfortable bathThere is no bathroom in the roomAll in all, I highly recommend everyone to come.

The inn itself has quite a nice cozy little Onsen and the rooms and facilities are very clean and well maintained. The problem is that the owner who is an older Japanese gentleman seemed to be rather rude and unaccommodating towards us.We understand that their policy is 7:30pm check-in latest (which I personally find strangely early as it is straight after dinner time), but he cancelled our booking because we were 20 minutes late (we were driving from Yokohama) not only that but he also cancelled a day of stay a week prior when we originally booked his place for two days rather than one, leaving us having to move our plans around quite last minute. He seemed to treat us differently to other guests, he helped handle the luggage for them and bow frequently but acted very cold towards us.Overall very disappointed in this as we were looking forward to our stay here as we had heard good things.
