The hotel is in the middle of an uphill road. No matter if you take one more stop to the top of the slope or one less stop to the bottom, it will be quite difficult to drag your suitcase to the hotel. Other than this, everything is perfect. Comfortable and spacious rooms, warm and considerate service staff, delicious and sumptuous food, and a comfortable outdoor private hot spring ♨️, it’s great!

We had a blast! It was awesome to stay here.We stayed for four nights because we did not want to rush through Hakone Nationalpark. Apparently, people usually stay for one night, enjoy the place and leave for other endeavours. However, we found the four days were worth our money and time. We had a typical Japanese room, a great view and breakfast and dinner included. We were asked in advance, if we require any special treatment for food (allergies, stuff we don't eat) or not. And, I'm glad we eat anything. The seafood for dinner (sashimi, shrimp, fried fish, ...) was amazingly prepared by a overly friendly staff. It was very tasty, fresh and very hygienic. Every night we had a five course dinner menu, well prepared by the cook of the house, and every dinner had different meals.Breakfast was also great. Every day some variety including fresh fruit, eggs with ham but also some fresh fish or fried fish options. We never went hungry and always felt at home. The private onsen was also neatly organised and a relief after a hard day of hiking through Hakone. This place gave us rest and really refilled our batteries. The interior is well maintained although a bit old. However, the air-conditioning works fine (and is very new) and it does not look run down or anything. It's rather like visiting your Japanese grandparents. My wife and I had separated beds and the room is pretty bright in the morning so maybe bring a sleepmask. This is basically the only downside I experienced. But it was still perfectly fine.I highly recommend Lalaca and we would love to come again.

We stayed two nights and it was really perfect. The rooms are big and quite. Everything is really traditional japanese. You get your japanese cloths, that you can wear for the onsen and breakfast/dinner. The food was delicious!! (but you need to like japanese seafood food, for europeans it is partly an adjustment of your approach to food 😃). The dinner/breakfast is a fixed menu on a fixed time (8am and 6pm) - the quality and the variety of food (minimum 5-6 different courses) is really outstanding. The onsen was also very nice with long opening hours. I highly recommend this hotel!

As a family we had a lovely stay at lalaca. The staff were so attentive and catered for our needs. The evening meals were a highlight. We accidentally left some items behind and the staff went out of their way to courier them to our next accomodation. Thankyou so much lalaca!

Hakone Yumoto tourists this seasonVery crowded with studentsI want to relax in a hot springGora and SengokuharaThis is my second visit to Rakurakuhana. It's a bit of a walk from the station, but depending on the time,It's open on weekdays and you can relax in the cloudy hot springs for 1200 yen including a towel. It would be better if there were lockers, but you have to leave them at the reception desk or manage them yourself, so that's the only thing that takes away one star. The store staff are also kind and polite. The hot springs are also small, but they are kept clean and you can take your time in them. It's soothing. Please come again.
