The hotel itself was lovely, and the staff were nice, but eating here was expensive as hell, and it's not a nice walk to get anywhere! The walk would not be a problem if the bus that went past were included in the Hakone free pass, but alas no, so we had to carry our suitcase along the road due to a lack of pavements and an excess of debris. The onsen was such a wonderful experience! However, make sure to book your slot far enough in advance so you don't end up with the 10pm/6am slots! The room had some nice teas and such, and it was a very nice place. The balcony was a great place to sit and chill, too! At least, when the weather was a little nicer!

Very nice location, with parking space. Friendly staff, nice rooms and a very modern/traditional hotel. The tatami mats were very thin and uncomfortable.

Nice concept. Green environment. Rooms good for 1 or 2 nights. The breakfast was sublime (traditional). We didn't think dinner was that good. Very little choice. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The Onsen was equipped with all kinds of care products. I do doubt the authenticity of the bath. Bus stop in front of the door is handy. Democratic price to stay.

We stayed at the Yuyu Onsen Hotel for two nights and liked the stay overall. But besides the great opportunity to visit a private onsen(we were even able to do this twice), there were also a few disadvantages:Although the “J” bus line with the bus stop is right in front of the hotelthe hotel, the bus is NOT included in the HAKONE FREE PASS.If, like us, you have bought a Hakone Free Pass andnot want to pay for the whole way from Odawara/Hakone-Yumoto, then it's best to take the “T” bus to Togendai and walk over to Kojiri, where it isonlya few stops to the hotel and you will pay considerably less. Unfortunatelythe J-bus line is often late.As already described in the other reviews, there are only limited dining options, so we always ate out or brought snacks from the 7-Eleven.We had a room with two futon beds and a balcony -the balcony was very nice, the futon beds were adequate. Fortunately, our room had its own toilet and washbasin, but there is no separate shower, instead there is a shower room for women and a shower room for men in the basement.Overall, you can tell that the hotel is getting a bit long in the tooth and we would only recommend it because of the J-bus line and the remoteness if you really want a private onsen for yourself.

The cost was ¥32,000 for a family of four. I think it will be a cheap accommodation in high season. There are no convenience stores/restaurants around, so you'll have to either buy food in advance or bring it with you. From a Japanese perspective, it looked like a California Roll hotel that looked Japanese, but had the strange feeling of being in an overseas hotel (not necessarily in a bad way).

A very no frills type of hotel. The rooms were clean but the bathroom didn't have a towel to dry your hands with.It is located close to Owakudani but aside from that there is nothing but other hotels. Would definitely recommend picking up some food beforehand as there are no restaurants and the food they offer is overpriced for what it is.The private onsen was nice but there were several bugs but it is to be expected.
