We had a lovely stay for one night. The rooms are old and beautiful. Our only downside was we arrived on a hot day so it was hard to stay in the onsen long. The service was fast and friendly. The food was very good and had a nice variety. If you like to sleep in, the early check-out (10am) may feel a bit rushed but for us it was no problem.

Our stay at the ryokan was generally very positive. The charm of this older establishment truly enhanced our experience, giving it an authentic and unique atmosphere. Our spacious room offered stunning views of the nearby waterfall, creating a serene and tranquil setting. The private onsen in the room was a lovely addition, although we did notice some particles coming from the bath walls. Despite this, it was still a nice feature to relax in.One downside was the dinner reservation process. We were initially told we could choose a dinner slot at 7 PM, but upon our return, we found that option had already been filled. That was a bit unkind. However, both dinner and breakfast were outstanding. The meals were plentiful, delicious, and beautifully arranged, served with great kindness by the staff.

It was a very nice inn!I was nervous because the reviews were so harsh, but it was so much better than I expected. When I entered the inn, they locked my shoes and took my luggage to my room first. They also put out futons for you ☺️ The room was spacious and comfortable. The stairs are steep and the slippers will slip, so if you take them off or wear them barefoot, you won't have any problems. As for the rice, I have a seafood allergy, but they took care of it and I enjoyed it deliciously.Although it is a hot spring, I took a private bath that requires a reservation, and a private bath that does not have a time limit if it is available. The latter bath was very hot at about 45 degrees, so I thought it would be recommended for winter. It was a very good inn and I liked it, so I would like to stay there again when I come to Hakone ☺️

Excellent traditional hotel. It is an older building and shows some wear. No elevator! Food was delicious and onsen was fabulous. Service was excellent. Have to get used to staff entering room for dinner and breakfast service and also setting up and putting away bedding. Very good location.

Wonderful stay in this traditional Japanese inn.We had a very beautiful and exotic experience. As soon as we arrived, we were very well received, the staff took great care and accompanied us to our room to explain everything to us about how the establishment worked. Our evening meal was served in our room, the food was very good, worthy of a gourmet restaurant, we thank the chef for this exceptional tasting. We had the right to our private onsen by reserving the slot upon our arrival. This bath allowed us to relax before our night's sleep.Everything was perfect.Thank you again for immersing us in your culture.Regarding the location, the hostel is less than 10 minutes from the station.

Typical onsen of the area. Really spacious bathroom with sauna and huge shower. Strictly Japanese dinner and breakfast, the best meals of the three weeks spent in Japan. More than the spa, it provided scrupulous service respecting tradition. Eating sitting down won't be the best but sleeping on the futon comes close. Pampered by elderly Japanese who made our beds and served our meals. Advised. Nice private and public onsen.
