We stayed in the deluxe double room and can highly recommend it. The room is massive by japanese standards and was very well equipped. Everything seems new and modern and the area is more local than touristy. We loved it.

Very convenient for using the subway north, south, east and west.If the weather is nice, Karasuma Marutamachi, Sanjo Kawaramachi, and Shijo Omiya areas are also within walking distance. Anyway, it's far from the downtown area and a little bit from the street, so it's quiet!

The service in this hotel is very good. It is very close to Karasuma Oike and Nijo Castle. The decoration is beautiful and the reception staff are friendly and polite.

The room was nice and spacious, but there were thorns on the carpet near the sofa. (Perhaps it was a thorn in the tatami mat under the bed?) Something had fallen and got stuck in my leg. When I spoke to the person at the reception desk, I couldn't understand what they were saying because it seemed like they were from a foreign country, and they didn't seem to have any disinfectant or bandages, so they couldn't help me in any way...I thought it would be very dangerous if a small child were to get stung.I stayed for a long time, but it seems that reservations are required for cleaning the day before, so I wanted them to clean it properly.

This hotel was nice! Comfy beds, great AC, awesome water pressure. Neighborhood was nice and quiet. However, there was no iron or steamer provided, no body lotion and the receptionist is only available for a few hours a day so when we needed assistance we couldn’t get any. Also, a good 10-15 minute walk from the subway station so keep this in mind if you’re bringing luggage! We didn’t receive any information about the shuttle and that would’ve been a game changer for us.

🏨Resi Stay Mayu Grace Hotel Cocoon Grace Hotel (Apartment Hotel)Currently, I have stayed in the largest (15 tsubo) room with the highest value for money in Japan! ! !✅Extra large! ! ! 50 square meters is amazing *In-room running video provided*✅There is a kitchen and kitchen utensils!✅The Simmons bed is great for sleeping, and the sofa bed is perfect for lying down! This is a 10-day trip with my silver-haired mother. I booked 3 different accommodations for 9 nights. After experiencing the baptism of Shinsaibashi and Kawaramachi streets, I am very, very glad that I arranged the Resi Stay Mayu Grace Hotel in Karasuma Ward on my trip. at the end. When choosing a hotel, I paid special attention to the square footage, but compared to the previous room of 23 square meters, this room is twice as big. I was really shocked when I entered the room. From the entrance, kitchen, walkway, sofa leisure area, and sleeping area, it really feels like a home apartment with a good sense of space. My mother and I were still very reluctant to leave it until we returned to Taiwan! Not to mention opening two 30-inch suitcases, you should be able to open at least 10 if they are flattened🤣In addition, I have been in Japan for 7 days, and my Taiwanese mouth is almost at its limit (laughs)After entering the room, I took my mother straight to the nearby vegetable shop, butcher shop and supermarket to buy ingredients, cooked noodles and fried meat. I was really moved to tears! ! !In the last three and a half days of the journey, I deliberately did not take the bus or subway, and insisted on taking my mother to get to know Karasuma with both feet. I am very grateful to myself for making this decision~ We were able to go to the vegetable shop to buy vegetables and meat in the shopping street with the locals. Wagyu beef slices are freshly cut in the store, unexpected encounters with Rokkakudo pigeons and swans, cherry blossoms and streams on the Horikawa promenade...🔹Cost: In mid-April 2024, I booked it on H station. The total cost is $10,191 (excluding Kyoto accommodation tax) on weekdays, and the average nightly price is $3397. But I saw that the room price in June is only about 2,500 per night. If you are interested, please ask!Of course, it is not completely without shortcomings, which are briefly described below~1. There is no washing machine, so you have to go to a nearby self-service laundry.2. It only provides one-way transfer from Kyoto Station to the hotel (reservation required). I took a taxi from Kawaramachi so I didn’t use it. When going to the airport, I took Uber directly to Kyoto Station and took the Limousine Bus.3. There is only one person at the counter between 15:00 and 23:00, and mineral water is only provided once in the room.4. The last one, the color of the bathroom is quite weird (black bathtub)🤣But the above still does not affect my giving high scores and providing reference! Here are some of the attractions we visited on foot around the hotel~📍Gogold ShrineIt’s only 300 meters away, just two intersections away!📍Nijo CastleIt is about 600 meters away and takes less than 10 minutes to walk (please go to the Horikawa Trail next to it!!!)📍Kyoto Royal GardenIt takes about 20 minutes to walk. It is really comfortable to walk in the nearby lanes every day. Kyoto Gyoen Garden can really walk to the nearby Goou Shrine (Wild Boar Shrine).📍Ziyunshan Dharma Temple (Rixiaotang)If you pass by accidentally, you will never forget it.Even though it's in the city, it's so quiet - a shrine guarded by pigeons.I actually raised several white swans!!!! I was amazed.📍Sanjohui Shopping StreetThere are butcher shops, vegetable shops, cafes, restaurants, and Seiyu Supermarket, but they close in the evening. If you encounter rainy days, you can come and visit for a longer time.🔹Attached is the transportation guide to the hotel. From the bus: Kyoto City Bus "Horigawa Oike" about 4 minutes on footDistance from the subway: About a 5-minute walk from Exit 1 of Nijojo-mae Station on the Tozai Subway LineDistance from the subway: About a 10-minute walk from Exit 4-2 of Karasuma Oike Station on the Karasuma Line

The illegal parking of shuttle vehicles at Kyoto Station is flagrant. The other shuttle cars follow the rules, but this one is the only one that doesn't. So, what do you think about Japan's laws prohibiting parking? Please consider this if you are using this shuttle service.

The official website said that check-in must be done at the welcome counter in front of Kyoto Station. We filled in the passenger information in the link sent in advance. When we arrived, the on-site staff said that the information was all filled out and we could go directly to the hotel. Unlike what the official website says, this part is confusing. The only benefit of going to the welcome counter is that you can take the free shuttle bus.As far as rooms are concerned, a 50-square-meter room can accommodate two large suitcases, which is very convenient and has good sound insulation. There are many interesting shops nearby to visit. There are bakeries, cafes, and supermarkets near the hotel. The living functions are pretty good.

Free pick up at Kyoto station was nice. The rooms are great and very great for my family of 5 including 3 small kids. We had an issue with our toilet and they fixed it the next morning while providing us another room to resolve the situation. I do wish that it was closer to a metro stop as it requires a bit of walking. We walked to the Nishsiki market everyday so it's not too far.
