Hostel Sui is a lovely hostel situated in the suburbs of Kyoto. It is serviced by bus routes which can get you anywhere in the city near enough. The bunk was comfortable and had plenty of space, the place was spotless and the lounge was good for chilling out, cooking food and meeting others who were travelling.Masa, the host, is a star. He runs the place single handily and does a stellar job. He offered up a local ramen place which was excellent and made sure I could stay extra nights when a typhoon was forecast.Everyone was friendly enough when I stayed here and chatted in social spaces of the hostel. The upstairs shared area was quiet and everyone respected that which was great.Overall this place was a gem of a find in my opinion.

Absolutely loved everything about my stay here! The owner is so nice and helpful. I was able to check in early which was unexpected but amazing! The space I had was spacious and comfortable. There were many things to see within walking distance but also via bus/subway. It’s such a good value for money I recommend this place to everyone.

Generous owner who is very patient. English-speaking friendly. While far from the main city center, gives a chance to explore smaller shops around (there are a ton). Still close enough to bus station and Castle!

Sui Kyoto is a great place to stay, I traveled solo and got a double room for myself. Air conditioning was cool (considering my stay in winter), snacks and water is offered for free in the breaking room (believe me, you'll be more than delightful of having this service while traveling in Asia) and washrooms were always clean. Located in a walking street, Sui Kyoto will bring up to your trip a peaceful environment, if you enjoy privacy and maybe are thinking about a romantic experience for a fair price, this place is a 100% for yourself.Even with a breaking room and comfortable living room, it would be nice to have some plans with breakfast included (considering the city of Kyoto start business really late in the morning with a few occidental options), this would be my only observation, nothing bad to say about this lovely place. Atmosphere is really private a bit far away from shrines and museums but Kyoto is pretty accesible to go by bus or subway which are really near to the hostel.

This place was an experience itself. Thank you for designing this place. It is stylistic, modern and clean. The dorm has lovely wood panel choices and the wooden + white color combination gives it a warm cozy bright simple and relaxing vibe. The dorm space was very interestingly designed in a way that is not only stylish but also maximizes individual privacy in a shared space. I have a superior dorm bed, which has a private space next to the bed. I miss my cozy private corner and wish that I had stayed longer. The place is easily accessible by bus. It is in a really nice and quiet residential terraced house area with the mountain view in the background of the street. I really enjoyed this residential surrounding too.

The best hostel I’ve ever stayed in Japan.I wish I can give it more than 5⭐️ for being an excellent hostel. The attention to details was really consider to meet the needs of each guest. The owner and staff are warm and hospitable. The place feels homey. Clean rooms, parking available on site for 500/day, free laundry, kitchen is well equipped with things you need. It even has free coffee, tea, liquor and a complimentary water bottle on your stay. Rooms are spacious, clean and warm. It’s not your standard hostel, its more than that. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely hostel. Only reason it's a 3* for me is the hidden charge of 200yen per night per person. For us that was an extra 2000 yen. Not a small amount. Also it is a tad far out from the main places, however loads of stuff to use around the place. Very nice staff and good use of free laundry.
