The staff were friendly and polite and the location is excellent 👌 the rooms need some work. It's a budget hotel but the drainage was poor in the bathroom leading to flooding when the bath emptied and a damp smell in the room. Some residual mould was in the bathroom (minor but noticeable). It's a fair deal for the price, hence the rating. Would have rated 5 stars if not for the bathroom. The staff were very friendly and the bed was comfortable.Be aware this is a fully non smoking hotel and smoking on Kyoto streets is banned. So if you do smoke you will need to visit the arcade next door to use a smoking room. This wasn't an issue for me, but may be for some guests.

I honestly recommend to stay in this hotel. At a first glance the room might look cramped and the fact it has no-view-window feels weird but it actually has all comforts you need for a stay in Kyoto. The mattress is very comfortable- I slept so good. A cheap service of washing machine is available but also very much in use so I recommend to wake up fairly early to load your dirty clothes. We stayed 5 nights and it was a great choice for comfort and location.

We had a great stay here as the location was great. Did not enjoy the breakfast offered at restaurant. Room size is okay for Asians but would not recommend this for guests with larger built. We stayed at a twin room and it was nice. …

For the price and location Travelodge is definitely worth your stay, a couple walks down is ichiran directly connected to the shopping arcades. Convenience during night strolls around the city.Facilities are clean with everything provided however there are no streaming apps on the TV. Would say it's tricky to do your laundry as there are only two units for the entire building. Overall a great experience with a great view from the window.

Staff were respectful and very helpful. Everything is clean and our family liked the interior. Only downside is that the two laundry machines are always occupied but good thing we packed more clothes in case we could not wash our clothes. Amazing location!

This hotel is centrally located in a busy shopping district. The family room had no view facing a building with blurred windows. It felt a little claustrophobic. There were some stains on the floor. The bathroom smelled awful like wet and musty dirty water. The floors are dirty with mold. The bathroom was not very clean and it is very small. As a result, it was an uncomfortable stay.

We got a small twin bedroom room and it provided enough space to fit both our luggage. what was really convenient was the coin laundry available as well as the restaurant at the front that we could go to if we ever didnt feel like going out.the location is crazy good. it is right on a main street with lots of restaurants and its right next to a round one arcade

Fake reviews: the A/C doesn't work, it claims to be cooling but it does not, the beds are rock hard, the walls are paper thin, you hear everything from inside and outside the hotel. Clearly they have a lot of paid fake reviews. Staff were friendly whenever I interacted with them but the breakfast was absolutely horrible, zero selection.

Great location. Right on a main street. Very helpful staff. Tiny room and bathroom. No views. Collect your amenities like coffee, sugar and creamer from check in counter. Laundry room available. Yen 500 for two hour wash and dry up to 3 kilos.

This hotel is located in great neighborhood right to Teramachi shopping street, Nishiki Market, Nintendo Store, Don Quijote, Uniqlo or Gion. Rooms were, as expected in Japan, rather small but clean. I really enjoyed my stay.
