While in Kyoto, we enjoyed our 5 nights stay in this small contemporary artsy hotel by the river that is clean and tidy. Location is great as it is next to Higashiyama subway station and there is a Lawson convenience store just 100 meters away. With 5 floors only, the highlight is its beautiful lobby that is serene and has a nice soft continuous jazz music. Complementary is free flow of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks and some snacks every night from 6pm to 10pm. I can't find another hotel with this kind of unique selling point. We also bought all 5 different colours of Monography T-shirts. If you are a photographer, you will understand the hotel concept. Good value for money and highly recommended!

Exquisite, comfortable and quiet small hotel, the service is friendly and just right, without disturbing the guests too much. High-quality decoration and supplies are used, and there is a Bluetooth speaker in the room and bathroom. You can feel the care and attention of the operators everywhere.Although the salad bar for breakfast is not a luxury level, it is still amazing. The local milk and eggs are also very fresh and delicious. Free alcoholic beverages are provided in the evening, which is very generous. In addition to red and white wine, there are also a variety of local sake, ginjo, plum wine, whiskey, etc. The quality is good, and there are also non-alcoholic beverages to choose from.The location of the hotel is great. Anping Shrine, Chion-in Temple, Kyoto Museum of Art, Yasaka Shrine, and Gion Garden are all within walking distance. There is also a small river next to the hotel, which is very suitable for a walk to slowly reach various attractions.This is a hotel that my family and I highly recommend, it’s really great!

Our family of four loved this hotel so much! Beautiful location along the canal with lots of good little restaurants and shops nearby, and the subway less than a block away couldn't be more convenient!The design of our room was a perfect mix of contemporary and traditional. We booked a "Large" room which came with two additional futon mattresses for the kids on the floor. The mattresses took up most of the extra space in the room but we just rolled them up each morning and pushed them against the wall and it worked great (and added to the "traditional" charm).We had none of the problems that the previous reviewer noted. The view from our window was the pretty canal, we didn't hear anyone else, there were plenty of typical "extra amenities" in the bathroom, and since we took taxis, ubers or the subway we had no issues with parking. Temperature was fine. We did have to figure out how the AC worked using Google Translate, so a simple directions sheet in English would have been useful.Service was helpful and always available. The drinks in the evening in the lobby was a pleasant surprise and allowed us to leave our kids upstairs for a couple hours while we got some time to ourselves in a very lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend!

A very nice hotel with large rooms, even in the standard version. The service is also very good and you are well looked after. As a small highlight, hotel guests can sample a number of sake, wines and non-alcoholic drinks for free in the evening.

Gion Manju was right next to me, so I ate sekihan on the Shinkansen on my way home.Heian Shrine, Yasaka Shrine, Nanzenji Temple, and Kyocera Museum of Art are within walking distance. Conveniently located near Higashiyama Station. When I was wondering where to go for dinner, the front desk staff gave me lots of information. Although the room faced the street, the noise didn't bother me that much. Reservation made in early December of the year before last. I want to repeat it.

The room is small but the view is beautiful. The soundproofing is very good. The all-you-can-drink wine in the evening is very good and very sincere! ! The cp value is very high and worth recommending! !

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tassle Hotel and will definitely be back! The hotel itself is fairly new and in a great location being a 10 min walk from the main shopping streets and public transport. The rooms are spacious (for Japan) and have all the modern cons you could need. Staff were extremely friendly and would offer to help with anything needed. This is my top pick for hotels in Kyoto.

It started even before I arrived, I was coming by car, so I asked about parking. To which they only said they didn't have it and didn't offer a list of good parking around (in Kyoto it's important when you're looking for a long-term parking). When we arrived we were given the room, which had nothing to do with photos on booking or with what i paid for. I pointed that out and was told that we were given the leftover room basically. Because "some people booked the room you wanted a month or even 3 months in advance and they have a priority over people who booked last minute to see red leaves". Fun fact. I booked 3 months in advance. The view from my room was a wall. The room was super cold. The location of the room itself was by the elevator, so I was woken up constantly. Noise isolation was nonexistent. The expected complimentary items (e.g. shoe buff) not only wasn't provided to start with, but also not in stock when asked for. Every little detail of the stay was below expectation. You'll get a better room and service at an average 3 star hotel in Japan for a better price.

You can walk to Chion-in, Yasaka Shrine, and Heian Shrine! Because of this location, you can go to Chion-in Temple in the morning, take a break at the hotel, and visit Heian Shrine in the afternoon. Gion and Pontocho are also a little far away, but it's still very atmospheric to stroll through the streets of Kyoto.It's also good that the subway station is right nearby.However, on the other hand, there is no parking lot or rotary, and nearby parking lots are quite expensive and difficult to park, so it is quite difficult to come by car. Use of public transportation is recommended. It's difficult to find parking in Kyoto right now, so if you want to come by car, I think a hotel with a parking lot is a good idea.The problem was that there was no desk and chair in the room, but instead there was a cozy living room-like space on the lobby floor, which hotel guests were able to use freely at any time. Free drinks such as coffee and tea.Alcohol was also free from 5pm to 10pm. In addition to beer, shochu, and sake, you can also drink ginger ale and more. Despite this, there were no people who drank a lot and got rowdy, and the crowd was good.There are also table seats where you can charge your batteries, so if you don't want to go back to your room, you can charge at the outlet while drinking tea while waiting. It felt like it had its own free cafe.We didn't have any sweets, but it seems like you can bring your own sweets, so you can bring your own sweets and have an elegant time. This living room is my favorite! It was a great hotel.Unfortunately, I don't have a hot, low-caffeine drink at night. It would be even better if there were tea bags of oolong tea or jasmine tea.The room was clean, and the breakfast was delicious although there wasn't a lot of variety. The muffins were delicious! Since it was New Year's Day, the first 30 people received Kyoto's white miso zoni.

The hotel room is spacious, with a separate bathroom and shower room. Employees provide good service. Highly recommend helping. It is very close to the BTS station. The hotel is next to a canal, has clear water, has persimmon trees, and has a very good atmosphere. When I went there was a promotion to send 2 free bags to the airport. There were also free cocktails during the night. You can walk back from Nam Sai Temple. Definitely going back again after the front 🥰

Stylish boutique hotel in a very good location between Gion and some famous temples in the east of Kyoto. The hotel is still very new, so the rooms are very modern. However, you can tell that the service is not yet perfect. The breakfast is rather simple and western.

Great location, incredible reception service, a super comfortable room with bluetooth sound in the bathroom. One of the people at reception called the hairdresser to schedule an appointment and then accompanied us to the place in the neighborhood. I've never seen this in any hotel. We were delighted!!!
